No M40Rifle.com still exists.
Was on it last night and there is a fresh question regards the security warning.
I only go there now on my pornhub computer, the one with the cloudy screen.
I don't know about any of what you said, I do know there were lots of good people I contacted and helped me on M40rifle.com, lots of good info and I learned a lot in this last year when I joined it. In fact that site got me interested in M40 rifles and started me in another direction to add to my other firearm interests.
Nothing to celebrate on my end. Its sounds pretty bad about your dealings with whoever ran it and the slandering of your service record as a Marine Sniper.
I'd be a bit pissed myself if I'd worn your boondockers.
Was TR.net M40RIfles.net or did he use the forum too
Rooney has a fake M40 business, it might be under .Net
Trust me Rooney had an M40 site to sell rifles he made,
It may have been .Net or something but he shifted gears after the lawsuit to having women front the company when TR took a backseat after all the bad press.
It may been short-lived, but it was there
Im on an IPad and the sight is showing up without the security warning fine. Anyone trying to get on can use Apple gear I guess.
Looks like only thing there is archives no new posts. Guessing members are abandoning it again.
Ya, not too long ago a cop who was a former USMC Sniper guy bought one, because, well, advertising. And Rooney was slaying me to the guy so much so he did a Hog Check on me because he believed Rooney's bullshit.
He is a piece of shit
He does indeed. Living in the same state as he does, I get email ads sometimes. I don’t think that I saved any of them or I’d post one up.Was TR.net M40RIfles.net or did he use the forum too

Maybe share a crayon with ya. Certainly not an MRE...I let you have the whole thing.Gee thats weird......no one ever doubts Im Infantry.

This is the only site I feel is relevant and my M40 clone consists of a Kelblys Atlas Tac action In 65 Creedmoor with a Bartlien 7.5" twist M24 profile finished at 23" in a Greyboe M5 that I had to inlet for the action, cut out the ejection port and side bolt release and then bedded for full action support and 1.5" or barrel.
There are many more on here with true M40 rifles but I refuse to conform or use HS precision garbage and feel mine is superior but I'm a jackass and go my own way.
Sad to say but he got me, and I lost several thousands and actually had to use the Florida Attorney General Pam Bondie to make him cough up a rifle and scope. Still pissed after all these years, and his site is still hustling. That is TacticalRifles.Net,
he is a scammer who tried to sue me and the site and claims I was not a USMC Sniper.
it's good it's gone, I buried TacticalRifles, now his other site needs to go too
He is a leech on the community
I have a Winchester Model 70 in a pink cockstock with a Tasco scope......... despite what anyone tells me it's an M40.
Like I said there are many here with more skill and knowledge than myself that know what works and aren't dettered by nostalgic ideals.
Rock what you got and don't look back![]()
What does HS Precision have to do with M40?
You don't even know what you speak against and your coming here to comment.
Than you tell us about your nonconformist gun that pretty much conforms to 90 percent or more of the rifles on here really which really marks you as a rebel.
Did you get your rifle from Tactical Rifles per chance?
Not a rebel I just know what I like and don't like.
The HS precision legacy I know I don't like based on thier endorsement of shit bag FBI agents that should have been burned out of thier hide for thier decisions for shot opportunities they took.
But that's just my opinion and doesn't mean jack shit in the big picture.
We all choose diff3rent based on what we like or dislike and I am no different, if that's something you choose who gives a shit what a turd like me thinks.
Wasn't trying to ruffle any feathers just say that we all have different ideas of what is optimal and in the end they all work for the indevidual.
That's a fair statement and I will take it on merit.Make a knowledgeable comment or criticism than that's legit but mentioning M40 series rifles in conjunction with HS Precision, the FBI or any historical events that are both horrible and distressing just causes one to scratch ones head.
Mark Twain had it right to wit.....Better to be silent and thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.
I think you must've missed the fact that this is VINTAGE...you know, old stuff? The original M40 was pretty much gone about 40 years ago. That's why it's vintage. About when Kelbly just got started even making actions, and later the model you "rock". This whole forum is about "looking back" and using what we had back when.Like I said there are many here with more skill and knowledge than myself that know what works and aren't dettered by nostalgic ideals.

With what you have, you would make valid posts in "Bolt Action Rifles". Where more modern Bolt action rifles are discussed.
I think your right on the money with that one I'm still a young buck and just turned 47 a couple of days ago.
I meant no disrespect just know what I like in the short years I've been stealing oxygen and what has proven effective for me.
You guys are allways a wealth of knowledge for me and I listen and learn but like allways bring my own baggage to the table.
Like I said no disrespect intended just an opinion.
Yes and no. With a good smith that you can work with, truing up a 700 is still one of the easiest actions to get shooting right. Barrels always make the biggest difference in accuracy. The "turd in the punchbowl" comes from people who want a 700 action to come right out and be as accurate as a custom. It takes money, time, and a good smith. So, in a lot of cases, guys would rather pay a little more for a custom. That takes more money, time, and a good smith. The rem 700 was something some years ago but has become a turd in the punch bowl compared to what we have now and I don't feel bad about saying it.
Costing on success never really pans out when your being outclassed and outgunned in every possible way but who really cares If your stuck in the past.
As far as that goes my beloved Kelbly Atlas is in the dust compared to an AI actio.n but I don't really give a shit
Not the first time I've heard of that about themThe threads on the barrel looked like they were cut with rusty soviet union military surplus plumbing tools and the slop was removed by throwing fucking kitty litter in the threads.
Do you realize that "M40" is the military base designation for the most prolific USMC sniper rifle series, and that you can't call anyone to build you a real one because only the Marine Corps makes them? That's a fair statement and I will take it on merit.
They have a solid rifle based on the M40 spec but I haven't ever been a fan of thier products maybe because I have been biased from the people they chose to represent thier products.
Again not trying to influence or bias opinions just a personal thing.

One of the excercises, two shooters partner up, ammo is placed 20-30 yards from shooters. At go shooters have to run to get ammo, at 100 yards acquire a card to shoot (card images are 1/3 size a real card), 5 shots total alternating between shooters, best hand wins.
I shot first so I had to make three shots. I shot the Aces, My partner shot the other cards (.224 holes, 8 diamond while aiming for Ace diamond and 2 Spade while aiming for Ace spade). We actually got high hand with three aces.......

I couldnt ask that "turd" Remington to be more dependable or consistent even under a little pressure.
Its not an M40 by the way......
This is an M40 with a fake scope.....

Note there is no HS Precision involved in any of this.....perhaps you mistake M24 for M40. There is no "FBI" involved in either M24 or M40.
47 is not a young buck, you are in your prime. Go forth and shoot well.
Frank your rifle in the bottom of the pick looks very close to what mine looks like but yours is defiantly more refined much like @pmclaine rifle.
I'm still trying to work out ergonomics and really need an adjustable cheek rest or pad, also need to quit being lazy and add some texturing front and back.
@pmclaine give me a good shooting scenario to use as a comparison and I would love to try but it's your challenge obviously and your rules.
I don't do especially well with timed challenges but showing my weaknesses up front.
I have a Triad stock pack on mine now, over the tape pad, with extra strips of padding for more height.
Im sure you and your rifle shoot well just commenting Remington is not the excuse for bad performance though.
Sure my guns have been massaged to get performance but when it comes down to it, the name on the receiver matters less than the name on the barrel, assuming both are screwed on by a competent person.
That said Ill take Dicks Sporting Goods Special R700 before Id take a TR rifle.
The bigger butt hurt on my part is your confusion regards what an M40 is.
Its not cutting edge tech for sure and in the case of the A6 I fail to feel an attraction.
Truth be told A3 on they start to lose that "Gunfighter" aspect that a historical romantic like me appreciates.
Its the history and the people that carried the M40 that matter, not the technology.
