Suppressors Dead Air Launches their Newest Suppressor - The Primal .458

Excited to see how it does on larger magnums (338's and 300's). I'm sure the appropriate end cap will make it sound much better on the 223's and even 308's too. Sounded great on the lever guns and 45's from the videos I've seen.

Love the weight and ability to customize! They just need to make a 338 endcap now.

ETA, super excited about this one. A legit large bore that can work on others as well.

I've looked them over, and I don't see how it's an improvement over the SiCo Hybrid that's been out for over 5 years. Seems like you'd be better off with a BW46, which you can take apart to clean and comes with most of the things you need to run it on a pistol or rifle. Also the other parts that go with the BW46 are almost always in stock.

If it's just that now DA guys can get a Hybrid/Bushwhacker, then that's cool too. I don't know, maybe I'm missing something?

Watch Chad with IV8888's video today, where he compared the 2.

Good video. I think it more or less confirmed my point though, when comparing the Hybrid. The BW46 is even better than that.

I'm not saying this isn't a good can, and certainly if you're already invested in DA brakes, this makes a lot of sense.

Yeah, I'm pretty heavily invested in KeyMo/KeyMount setups, so for someone like me, that would be the better investment, over a SiCo Hybrid.

Kevin is so salty. Not sure why tbh. Q doesn't have a 45cal can.

Kevin's a dick. I've talked to him several times, that's why I refuse to buy his products. I'm glad I never invested in AAC products. While they were good for their time, they're pretty much irrelevant now thanks to advancements in suppressor technology. I'll stick with people who actually care about their customers.

Hell, I've been able to DM Mike Pappas and @Mageever personally on IG several times and got responses quickly and with tons of help and information...Even more than I asked for sometimes. Which is awesome, because I'm a bit of a nerd when it comes to guns and suppressors and their engineering! When business owners are accessible to their customers, and ready and willing to help them, that's a company I'll continue to buy from and support with my hard-earned money.

Dead Air, Rex Silentium , Rugged, @SilencerShop , @HansohnBrothers , all of these companies have shown me exceptional support if I've needed it, or had any questions. I will continue to use them, not only for their phenomenal products, but for their outstanding CS, as well. Also, companies that have a strong online presence in today's modern age, is a huge plus, because it allows information to travel so much faster. 👍🏼

Looks like it would be awesome for running on .350 Legend...

It'd probably do a great job of suppressing that round, but considering the intended use of that cartridge, I'm not sure that I'd want to hang 8" and 1 lb of stainless steel off the muzzle of a "woods gun" that is likely to be discharged a few times per year. It's one of those situations where some level of modularity would be nice.

I'm admittedly torn on these do-everything cans. On the one hand, they are remarkably flexible and will likely work on 90%+ of what the average enthusiast has in his safe. On the other hand, very few participants in the NFA game will stop with one can; plenty of folks here and elsewhere demonstrate the "n+1" mindset with every post. I'm not tuned into the marketing side of this market, so maybe I'm missing a transition in focus from the nerds in the latter category to the normies in the former. If so, that'd be a good thing for the industry and so bring on more of these.

BTW, over the two minutes or so that it took to compose the above paragraph, I started thinking about ordering a can like this despite the fact that it doesn't address a single unmet need in my collection

To your point, a Hybrid was one of my first cans even when I was taking a multiple can approach. Figured the versatility had to be worth something. What I've ended up with is the hybrid gets used on my 45 cal rifles which it is the best for because its size. it does nothing else as well as something meant for the other use cases (rifles <45, PCCs, pistols). Some things it just does awful (e.g. too damn heavy for pistols). The primal would be the same.

I seen to recall that he had the Dead Air guys on his Q&A podcast last year and was generally friendly with them. Is the dude mentally disturbed or something? (That's a rhetorical question, BTW.) Anyways, this has the feel of pathetic desperation.

Aside from the Erector series, I'm simply not seeing where Q has any room to be shitting on other suppressor companies about lack of innovation. And in the case of the aforementioned products, congratulations on making a remarkably flexible silencer that can only be used on a single caliber
