I am ready to upgrade my scope.
I have run some Vortex and Athlon mid range glass in the past. I upgraded one of my rifles to a razor, havent been a fan. Currently also have an NF ATCAR 7-35 that I find it very dark.

My eyesight has been declining of late and I want something brighter. I have a budget of $2.5 K. Looking for Mil, not too picky on reticle, I do like good solid turrets with smooth and audible clicks. This will be for long range in daylight at 800 + yards with 6.5 PRC and 300 PRC caliber ammo.

Suggestions appreciated. Will likely try to purchase used in PX

I would recommend trying to find someone with other manufacturers models and looking through them prior to purchase. Everyone's eyes are different. Go to a shoot/competition and ask competitors if you can look through their scopes. As long as they aren't on a stage on the clock. Maybe at sight in prior to the shoot. I definitely would not buy before trying out what I am considering purchasing..

I agree with Dibbs that you should try them out if possible. I'm not sure you are going to find anything better than an ATACR or Razor for $2500. I'm running a Kahles 525i which I like but if I was going to replace it the NF 7-35 would be on the short list.

the razor is a good scope for the money honestly. turrets are nice, eye box is very forgiving, and glass is really good.
kahles are nice too, I do happen to have one in the px currently as I'm looking to get another razor.
NF is also good. I love my ZCO but that's a tad over your budget.

I would look at the Minox ZP5 that is listed for sale at $2300 currently.

Optically better than a Nightforce in your price range would be a Minox, Leupold Mark 8, USO Foundation series, or a Schmidt. They would all have to be used to be in that price.

As stated above, try to look through someone’s scope, because everyone’s eyes see differently.

If you’re saying the 7-35x is “very dark” and using it at max zoom then don’t expect that to improve much by going to another brand. Going to 35x will get dark by the nature of how it works optically. The same thing would happen with a SB 5-45x at max zoom. It’s all relative to where you are in the zoom range. Less zoom = brighter. More zoom = darker.

I have a Trijicon 5-50 and it doesn't get visibly darker until above 40X. The glass is a touch better than the XTR3, but FOV is not even comparable. I also have a ZCO527, which is another class of glass entirely, but obviously 2X the price. If you must have the high magnification, the Trijicon (Delta clone) is not a bad choice.
