So we've gone to a new format and taken away from nrl22. We try to keep it competitive across the board. Some stages are full support, some are no tripod, some are tripod provided, some have 15 yard targets, some have 350 yard targets. The whole idea was getting a points system, without making people buy or use the same props/gear across every club.

If you're around MT, there's 4 clubs now hosting monthly matches.

There are clubs from Wyoming and ND that are working on integrating. Feel free to steal ideas for your own local matches.

Sadly, the new web guy is way behind. We're working on a new site and admin. So the most up to date is the Facebook.

That sounds like a lot of fun. I would make the trip up to Billings from Gillette for a match. What's the entry fee?

Billings is $20, $10 first match. They just moved ranges, so they're here now: https://goo.gl/maps/Nryc19tU9jvuhnej8

Practiscore should bring up any matches under the PRO406. Some of the match directors are still figuring this out, but general rule of thumb is Billings is every 4th saturday, lewsitown every 3rd saturday. Great falls just started last month, and Glassgow has had some scheduling issues so they tend to be scattered a little.

Lewistown is like a drug dealer, first one is free, then they get you. They're $10/match.

Nobody is trying to make money, just a small fee to keep adding targets, props, and we do donate to practiscore as a club every once in awhile.

The guys in Cody are talking about starting up next spring, and I know they put on some good matches for the big guns.

We are running the PRS 22 matches for the NW region at Parma Idaho. Thats about 40 minutes west of Boise.

We have been running them all year. Its definitely my format of choice. No gear restrictions. No COF restrictions. It's pretty much PRS with 22 Rimfire.

Most of our targets have been between 50 to 150 yards. But we set a handful or so further for each match. Furthest was 350. But that was only one match. Most matches we have a 300 yard targets as our furthest.

The PRS 22 Rimfire Finale is in Texas in December. I think a few of us are going to go down to that.

We didn't want to group in with the PRS for 2 reasons.
    1. The gear chase. We still have a guy showing up with a 2-7 on a 10/22 and he's never last.
    2. The drama.

We try too do stuff like have a tripod stage, with a death grip that anyone can use. This doesn't limit the guys that don't have a bunch of $, but the others that bring a RRS are welcome to use theirs.

I understand the gear race perspective.

But drama is everywhere. NRL, PRS, Local disgruntled club guy. Its inherent in the human race 🤣

If its any consolation, the PRS has been completely drama free in my neck of the woods. Its the NRL that's taking a beating right now.

This looks like fun. If I can improve my shooting, I would make the trip up from Wyoming next summer. Which ranges/clubs in Wyoming are looking to put on matches?

Does it seem like NRL22 is on the decline in anyone else's region? From the New England prospective it looks like most of the places hosting the monthly COF stopped and you have to travel 1,000mi+ for most NRL22X matches. The one big NE NRL22X match cancelled due to low interest. Has NRL turned into "it's NRL22X or nothing" or has PRS Rimfire taken the wind out of NRL's sails?
I’ve not seen that here in East TN. In fact, it’s become a bit more popular as PRS matches and new shooters have entered the league. I see a good number or built up 10/22’s with quality glass, bipods and they do well. Then there’s the Vudoo, RimX, Bergara, Anschutz etc crowd taking the trophy. Great sport for sure as it keeps the fundamentals in check.
