I am posting these documents to aid anyone who is having trouble connecting a Windows 10 desktop PC to a device that runs Windows CE. The most common device that we run into as shooters is the NOMAD which runs FFS and Coldbore. When I got a good deal on a NOMAD, I could not load Coldbore on it because it would not connect to Windows 10. I searched for a week and found these items on various Windows developer boards and finally had success. PLEASE

- Read the "NOMAD Synch Process for Windows 10". FIRST.
- I can't say that this will work for other Trimble devices as I have only tried it on a NOMAD. The issue with connecting is that support for WMDC (Windows Mobile Device Center) and with it support for devices that used Windows CE OS was dropped by MS. The NOMAD uses Windows CE and therefore could not connect. If your device does NOT use Windows CE as its OS, this will not solve your connection issue.
- This is not necessarily an easy thing to do if you are not familiar with the Windows OS internals. The registry fixes discussed in the Windows Mobile Device Center Issues are optional although I did them. Be careful changing the Registry as you can totally fuck up Windows and be in a worse state.
