Gunsmithing Bushing bolt and turning pin

I sent my .308 bolt to Greg Tannel, Gre-tan rifles. He did a great job, and was pretty quick as well. Lighter pin assembly as well, and a pleasure to deal with.

    Random color change from annealing?

When I was using dry lube, I just put them back in a box and loaded as needed, but the dry lube isn't quite enough, I'm getting heavier marks when sizing, so I'm back to paste lube and re-tumbling for now.

    Random color change from annealing?

Yes, he has the green tempi lac, I'm pretty sure it's 750. I was thinking surface chemicals too, maybe old case lube or cleaner. It was like 5 pieces out of 200.

    Loads 178 BTHP vs 178 ELD-M vs 175 RDF

I love the 2000MR in my Rem 5R (24"), but it is a little more temp sensitive than Varget. I use more of it than varget for a 175, almost 3 gr, but I get about 100 more fps out of it and have it pretty accurate at about 2750fps. On initial testing I got them over 2800 without issues, but the...

    308win-175 SMK "tactical tips" & Berger 185 Juggernaut's AR10 semi auto

You might get the Juggs to fit and work, I seat them at 2.208" ogive in my Rem 5R, but I'm betting the tipped 175's will be too long. Previous post nailed it, make some dummies, and/or do some measuring and eyeballing of the slugs next to a case and a mag.

    308 : Switching to the 168 ELD-M bullet

They'll seat differently than the BTHP bullets, but should be about the same as AMAX. That's what my pal noticed when he loaded some 178's.

Rifle Scopes Mount height for a Bushnell DMRIIi 3.5-21x50

I have Seekins rings for my DMR, on my Rem 5R, but I can't remember the height. I want to say low mount, I only have like .25" clearance from the barrel. Seekin's site shows .92" for low mount, and they have a 1.45" for "AR high" mount. With a continuous rail, something in that range is probably...

    Random color change from annealing?

I annealed 200 rds of Lapua .308 brass on my pals Annealez machine the other day, seems to work great. My question for everybody is, that a handful of them showed a bunch of pink coloring halfway down the case, where most of them had the typical light coloring at the neck and shoulder. Does...

75 ELDM and 178 ELDM, thoughts and questions

I was told by a close source that the 73 was created to fit in AR mags better. The 75's can fit, but you lose some flexibility with seating depth for load development. I have some 178's for my 5R, but haven't loaded them yet. My pal should have some of the 73's soon, if he doesn't already.

Load data for Berger's 185gr Juggs in a 308 win?

I have a gen2 700 5R, and I got one pretty dialed. 46.8gr of 2000MR, bullet seated at 2.208 ogive, Lapua brass, and Federal 210M primer. I had tried seating them longer originally, but pulling them back tightened up the groups quite a bit, as well as the GM primers from CCI BR2's. I haven't...

    185 Juggernaut + Power pro = awsome

I too, am a fan of 2000-MR and the 185 juggernaut. I had it shooting well with BR-2's, but got some 210m primers recently and really got it to work. I shoot a Rem 5R, and have them running around 2650-2700, with very low SD's. My best was like 3-something.
