I have a 22" GAP-10 and averaged 2613fps with 20 rounds of FGMM 175gr. That was measured with a Magneto Speed chrono.

Gun cleaning supply list. Lets year what you have and what you do.

Dewey rod, rod guide, nylon brush, and parker hale jag. Boretech C4. I use the C4 so I only remove carbon and not the copper (yes, I'm one of those guys). I clean after every trip to the range. 1. Run C4 soaked patch through and let sit for 5ish minutes. 2. Run nylon brush through 3-5 times. 3...

    Mag issues

I just had the same issue on saturday with my GAP-10 and a dpms mag. I bought one from wildlife callers and I traded my 20 round pmag for another to someone on the board. The one I got from wildlife callers works great but the one I traded for does the same thing on the 3rd round left in the...

Range Report Twist rate article in Sniper

How do you know its wrong? Have you ever tried a faster twist rate? I'm not saying its right but it is worth a look. Maybe it doesn't work in theory with the formulas they have but for a twist that fast the formulas may not work. Like in the formula he gives they substitute 180 in for the 150...

Range Report Twist rate article in Sniper

I would like to get Brian Litz's opinion on this. He has an article or 2 in the magazine too.

    Locating 168gr FGMM

Same at my Cabela's but 175gr which is what I want. Mine is in a mall where I play hockey on friday and saturday nights so I get there early and take a brisk walk down to cabelas before the game and I usually buy 3 to 5 boxes a weekend. It makes for a good warm up and puts me in a good mood for...

Range Report Twist rate article in Sniper

I'm not going to argue that but remember, at one time every one thought the world was flat. I'm just saying it might be worth further investigation. I might try and build a 700 with a custom twist barrel... strictly for scientific reasons of course. :)

    6.5 Creedmoor 1/7 Twist barrel

Can someone explain the benefits of progressive rifling. I understand how it works but what is the benefit of starting at say a 1:11 twist and ending at 1:8, the bullet would still leave the barrel at a 1:8 twist. I'm not saying there s no benefit, I'm just looking for education.

I do like his phrase "don't try to change the world, just question everything."

Range Report Twist rate article in Sniper

What he is saying (in my opinion) is that the higher twist rates help the bullet retain more bc and fight off the effects of going through transonic flight. Now what I think when I read that is that if the higher twist can stablize a 168gr at further distances, could it also help the stability...
