    15-45 or 20-60 spotting scope

I understand that, BUT I either get what I can afford or I go with nothing for 6 years

    trim length - load development

OK, I am starting load development for longrange shooting (1000 yards), 300 wsm, winchester coyote lite, stock barrel/chamber. I checked max case length tonight and I came up with 2.122. Checked it four times since that seems really long compared to the recommended trim length of 2.090...

    15-45 or 20-60 spotting scope

OK, that makes sense...the ground hog matches are shot at 200, 300, and 500 yards. The silhouette match I want to try is 850, 900, 950, 1000 yards. I guess in a nutshell what I am trying to understand would my money get glass that can be used at the full 20-60 zoom range or should I focus on...

    15-45 or 20-60 spotting scope

OK, trying to stretch my budget ($400-$500 max) to get what will be a good tool for the next 6 years. Shooting paper to 500 but also learning how to read the wind with it to 1000 yards. Used is definitely an option on my budget. I am trying to understand if buying a higher end 15-45 x...

    Opinions on spotting scope

This is exactly what I am looking for...So, will something like a Vortex Nomad work? I am just getting started in LR shooting and will be shooting from 200 yards to 1000 yards. Ground hog shoots to 500 yards, and sillouettes from 850 yards to 1000 yards. My "buy once, cry once" is...

    Sniper match father Daughter.

Mifflin County has "ground hog" matches that are out to 500 yards. I don't know much about them but plan on trying them this year. Mifflin County Sportsmen's Ground Hog shoots. Looks like April 26th is their first one for this year.

    Cases snug after FL resizing

Thanks and good point, I did this today and remeasured. All fell in the .003-.0035, of course my caliper has a +/- .001 degree of accuracy.

    Cases snug after FL resizing

OK, I measured my case lengths and all were 2.091-2.092, nothing raises a flag there. I also measured the bases and they were al the same. When I did chamber the "markered" round the only placed there are rub marks are on one side. On the shoulder right before it joins the case body. So that...

    Cases snug after FL resizing

How do you know? I put my shells in a case tray and sprayed with one shot. Can is angled slightly to make sure some gets in the neck hmmm, do undersize this slightly by sanding and polishing? Not sure what cases were what when I did my ten but some definitely pulled out of the die harder...

    Cases snug after FL resizing

Yes, that is correct, and the reason .003 was chosen was it was where I first could "close my bolt" with very little resistance. I will do this tomorrow and recheck measurements... I will double check case lengths as well tomorow. Thanks to all that replied. Steve

    Cases snug after FL resizing

OK, been reloading for years but all volume and no "precision". So trying to work up some loads for a 300 wsm, I'm using a redding FL die and set it up to bump the shoulders back .003. I am using once fired norma cases. I did 10 shells and I had three where when closing the bolt (downward)...

    Hello - Central PA

Yes, I am planning on coming to try this out. Is there someone I can call to ask a few more questions about it? I have read the website but have a couple of questions that I can't find the answer on. I am also think I am going to look into trying going to a Blackhat shoot too.

    Hello - Central PA

Hello, Been in the shooting sports for most of my adult life and have hunted since I was legal. Mostly USPSA and flintlocks but have tried 2gun (love it) as well. Planning on doing some elk and mule deer hunting over the next few years so have bought a 300wsm (coyote lite) and plan to work...
