    Groups smaller than bullet diameter?

That is what I enjoy about this sport. We're all at different skill levels, different equipment, etc... I have 2 standards for myself. My first standard is "will it put dinner on the table" covering POA, The 2nd standard is if I were a Boy Scout, would it earn me my rifle merit badge? (5, 5...

    I want to build a budget .338 - Ideas

I almost went with the 10-FCP but I had a little more in the budget than I anticipated so I went with the evil looking black one. :D I don't regret it for a second. If you get Lapua Brass, it'll run you about $2.50/round but that's good brass and you'll usually get about a dozen or more cycles...

    I want to build a budget .338 - Ideas

110BA .338 LM owner. Confession time; when I saw "Budget" and ".338 Lapua in the title, I just had to take a peek. :D The 110BA is my favorite gun to shoot hands down. I'd rather send 20 rounds down range of .338LM than spend all day with any of my other rifles. It's that much fun. What...

Gunsmithing Lathe Damage, worth Concern or No?

I work for a machine tool distributor and my advise is to send it back. You just never know what has happened to it. You paid your hard earned money you deserve to get what you paid for. JM2CFWIW

To the tick turds that keep hoarding the .22 lr stores, I will be laughing hard

This .22LR ammo problem hits me personally. I'm the Scoutmaster for a Boy Scout Troop that is not wealthy. Truth is, many of our Scouts have trouble affording the modest campouts we go on due to their family's financial situations. So, to tack on the relatively high (current) cost of ammo for...

    Why No 30 06

Worth mentioning IMHO, when ammo was flying off the shelf after Sandy Hook, guess what was still there? Yep, our old friend 30 06. That's what sold me over both the .308 and .300WM. Flawed logic? Perhaps in a lot of people's opinion, but availability beat out sexiness for me.

This should have been my first post. My apologies to the group. There's so much good info here, my hats off to the folks that share their expertise in their craft to make us all better. I am a Scoutmaster for a Boy Scout Troop and several of us adult leaders are enthusiasts. Our hope is...

Caliber Choices - Comparison and Applications

When choosing an "every day" caliber, I felt compelled to go practical for my location. Another Pro After Sandy Hook there was very little on the shelves here in the People's Republik of Kommiefornia, but .30-06 was one of them. While I can offer no technical advantages to it over anything...

    Dry fire: Do and Don't?

Thanks for the great practice advice. I just got a 110BA chambered in .338 Lapua and places where I can actually fire the rifle at distance are fairly limited for me so all the extra practice I can get with it will be of great benefit. Thanks again all! When I actually learn something of...
