    a grendel barrel, bolt, and mags could be a good option if you need to stick with an AR, but it will cost as much as a remington 700 varmint. Its how I started tho - broke apart my .223, slapped in the Grendel stuff, then started shooting 1K+ and reading, lots of reading.

    Holland has a decent light weight level, but I prefer my flatline ops top for Mark 4 rings- very solid and perfectly placed. If I keep both eyes open, the level appears to float transparently inside the scope

    If you run a 24 inch barrel, you won't need a comp, it will be heavy enough to stay on target and recoil will be minimal

    Took the m70 out for one last time before its transformation.

    I'd leave that thing alone, it looks and shoots too pretty to mess with, that gun's got soul. I'd grab a cheap rem varmint or savage and go nuts with it instead.

    My Dad just took and Elk using an ATACR on a Gap 300wsm hunting rifle. FWIW, it wouldn't fit in the scabbard when riding on the outfitter's horses, but he took the elk cleanly with one shot at 285 yards. To him, the compromise was worth it.

    Rifle Scopes Glass Quality Question - Bushnell G2DMR vs. Sightron SIII

    interesting, I expected brightness on the 3.5-21 to be better considering the tube diameter, and the glass to be a clear step up from their 30mm scopes. Looks like I'll be getting the SIII 6-24 FFP then. Thanks for the good info

    I have a few Sightrons and like the glass, but have yet to come across a Bushnell DMR scope to see how it compares. Has anybody looked through both the SIII (6-24 would be the most relevant) and DMR and come to a conclusion?
