    A good hand chamfer/deburr tool.

For years I used either a Wilson hand deburr took, or a Lyman VLD tool fitted on an RCBS case prep center. Occasionally I'd use a Sinclair vld tool, with the spiral/helical cutters. The one thing that always bugged me, about all of them, but particularly the VLD versions, was the (potential)...

Sorting primer velocity with the Garmin Xero

So... I'm just gonna put this out there: If you aren't already shooting clean, or very close to it - dropping one or *maybe* two points that are clearly elevation - sorting primers isn't going to get you where you want to go. If you're down 20-25 points for the day, at 600yds, you've got much...

Sorting primer velocity with the Garmin Xero

Residue consistent with the difference in priming compound? Others have dismantled and ultrasonically cleaned and measured the metal bits in the past - IIRC they are stupidly consistent, beyond what most of us have the scales see the difference in.

Area 419 Zero Press vs SCA Nexus Press

I understand *wanting* that kind of performance - especially given what we pay for some of these toys i.e. Zero, Nexus, etc. - but can you actually shoot the difference on target, to where it's anything more than a mental safety blanket?

    Possible Area419 lock ring Alternative?

Why not just use some Dillon or RCBS lock rings that you can get at the local gun shop, if you're going to cheap out?

    200.20x Berger BC

It's not entirely the same application (.308 Win vs .300 WSM), but I've put quite a few thousand of the 200.20X down range in FTR competition - since before their public release - and my come-ups have always jived with the numbers published with Berger, within the usual +/- tolerance

    .308 Winchester

Winchester brass and Varget are a very good combination with those bullets. 46-47 gn was a pretty common competitive load, running 2950-3000+ fps from a 30" Palma barrel. A lot depends on what you have for a chamber - short throated, like the '95 Palma (0.050" FB), or a little longer, like...

    .308 Winchester

Good info, but I believe he was asking about the new S169MK, not the old S168MK. And if you read on, he actually received a box of 155s.

Area 419 Modular Shell Holder System

pretty much no other choice... I've pestered them several times, but no movement on anything bigger than 'regular' magnum (.532). .338LM is .585".

    Hornady on tuners.

Might be worth looking at the vignette pdf for that 'shotgroups' package... might give you some ideas for your notebook(s).

    Hornady on tuners.

Cool. Been a little bit since I dabbled in Python, since R has more packages I'm interested in... but I vastly prefer the syntax of Python. FWIW... if you ever get feeling ambitious and put it on github, let me know!

    Hornady on tuners.

I don't suppose you have that notebook somewhere shareable? As an aside... if anyone is into using R, there is a package called 'shotgroups' that can do some pretty interesting number crunching / visualization.

Long range (1000 yard) reloading for 308...168 gr. SMK vs. 175 gr. SMK vs. 185 gr. Berger Juggernaut

You can use something like JBM Ballistics - or any other ballistics app - to play with the MV to see what you need to stay super-sonic - or above the trans-sonic region if you prefer - at distance.

    Hornady on tuners.

On a bit of a tangent... I've been following a couple threads on e-targets in BR over on AS... along with the usual arguing over whether e-targets are accurate enough for F-class. I swear, I'm the only person that, as a some-times match director, sleeps a whole lot better with people *not* in...

    Hornady on tuners.

I think you *might* start seeing a little more 'aggregate' target data going forward, at least from BR shooters, as I've been hearing of more ranges starting to use e-targets either for sighters (600-1k BR, where shooting at an e-target gives a little more precise feedback than shooting at clay...

    308win trim length question

The print I have for the 2013 US FTR team reamer - which was derived from the 1995 US Palma reamer - shows 2.045". Maybe they stretched it out from the SAAMI version?

    308win trim length question

IIRC the default end of the neck area extends as far as 2.045", so you could - in theory - let the necks go almost indefinitely, depending how much growth you're seeing per firing. That said, I've shot a pretty fair amount of 308 over the years, and I've never seen anything even close to a...
