    KRG Bravo Fit & Finish

I did not know Howa was selling in that paint scheme. I just went to their website, and it is not there. ??? In any event, glad you got it and expect it will shoot well. What caliber? Phil

    KRG Bravo Fit & Finish

Yellowfever440, I am the OP, and saw your Howa/Bravo pics. I like the paint work...well done. I won't speak to the panel misalignment in this response, but thought I would say I noticed you are using the standard bolt knob. I find it small and too short, so I ordered this bolt knob...

    Bell & Carlson Target/Competition Stock

No worry. Thanks for your suggestions. Scarcity of stocks for Howa is no surprise, but better than it used to be. B&C, Manners, McMillan, MDT, XLR, KRG, etc., all make stocks or chassis systems, but often times with limitations on models, colors, and magazines. They also seem to be lower end...

    Bell & Carlson Target/Competition Stock

Thank you. Unfortunately, Remington only, no Howa. :(

    Bell & Carlson Target/Competition Stock

Nice rifle. May I ask what stock brand and model that is. Kind of looks like a Bell & Carlson, McMillan, or Manners, in a style that I like. That grip works well for me too, from what I have sampled. Phil

    Bell & Carlson Target/Competition Stock

Yes, I did look at Boyd's, and while inexpensive, I do not like the design of the At-One model, nor the Varmint Pro. I also am not enamored with wood. They look like great deals, just not my cup of tea. I did research them extensively after reading your suggestion. For that, thank you. I...

    Bell & Carlson Target/Competition Stock

Yes, while not a fan of laminate stocks, I did look at Boyd's, and the "At-One", which is available for the Howa short action. Not really my style, and do not like the add on fore-ends, as they appear to be grippy, not a good thing for a bag. It also does not appear that the butt plate has any...

    Bell & Carlson Target/Competition Stock

Thanks for your comments. It is OK the stock is not as bombproof as Manners...it is just going from car to bench and back. I am looking at the contour for the Marksman barrel. I would want a barrel at least that big, so may inquire with B&C about what size barrel it will take. My barrel will...

    Bell & Carlson Target/Competition Stock

I cannot find much info on the Bell & Carlson so wondered if anyone here has any experience with it. Besides your opinion of it, I am also wondering how large the barrel channel is. It is difficult to find a stock similar to this with an adjustable cheekrest..., for a Howa, at a price I...

Howa Barrel Work - Gunsmith Recommendations

Thanks for your comments. The action/barrel thread is 26mm x 1.5mm thread pitch (metric). I did notice that some gunsmiths do charge a premium for working with metric threads. Depending on the lathe, threading metric CAN be more difficult and time consuming.

Howa Barrel Work - Gunsmith Recommendations

I have a Howa action with the original factory barrel still in it, that I would like removed to be replaced with a custom barrel that is threaded, chambered, and crowned (no muzzle brake). I will be using something like Brux, Krieger, Bartlein, or other cut-rifled barrel. I am looking for...

    MDT HS3 vs LSS-XL Gen2

For those that have either the MDT HS3 or LSS-XL Gen2, could you share any pros and cons that you have experienced with either? I will be using a Howa action with a heavy barrel in 6.5 x 47, perhaps with a barrel nut. The chassis will be used for shooting off the bench, normally a bipod or...

    KRG Bravo Chassis

I like the Sako green too, but for Howa owners, it is black or FDE only.

    KRG Bravo Fit & Finish

M6z, with all respect, your argument is non-sensical. The point being made is that both the Corolla and the Bravo are at the lower end of their market's respective price ranges. Gun stocks and automobiles are in entirely different price ranges. The point is that even an inexpensive car (for...

    KRG Bravo Fit & Finish

I have to agree with whatsupdoc. After seeing my Bravo in person, I am not sure yet what my next steps are. Return, attempt to improve, or use as is.

KRG Bravo (Howa) - Interesting Differences vs Pics

I just received my KRG Bravo for a Howa action. I am not sure some small differences I see vs photos is due to running design changes at KRG or because it is a Howa. See photos. Every pic I have seen shows the fore-end attached with 8 visible screws. Mine has six with no visible screw...

    KRG Bravo Fit & Finish

I am the OP. I see people unhappy with a barrel not centered in a barrel channel (even when not touching the stock), to a degree that is less than the polymer panel misalignment seen in some Bravos. I do not think that simply not tightening some screws to make the stock parts fit properly is...

KRG Bravo - Barrel Weight and Balance

I am awaiting arrival of my ordered KRG Bravo (Howa), so need a barrel to fire the 6.5 x 47 rounds. I do not have any good idea of barrel profiles and lengths that would achieve top accuracy, but also not adversely affect rifle balance. I prefer a heavy barrel, at least 24" - 26" long, and...

    KRG Bravo Fit & Finish

I know that the Bravo for $439 (Howa premium), is a good value, not withstanding the panel fit. I was looking at MDT, and with a sale, they were only about $200 more to get me in the same place as the Bravo equipment. But, I did not like some things, so here I am with the Bravo, and for less...

    KRG Bravo Fit & Finish

I get what you are saying. Like a nice car that has some poor fitting body panel which you never see while driving it. On the other hand, you DO have to walk to the car, and you DO see it. Frankly, I am rather surprised and disappointed with KRG's answer. Especially since it seems most (but...
