    .224 Valkyrie

Agree... that is some real nice shooting! Plan to try a similar recipe with some 85gr RDF's I just ordered. If they don't shoot well in my setup, will move over to the 88 ELDM's next.

    Savage BA Stealth chassis

Good luck... sounds like it will fit which was what I was guessing as well. Regarding the 260, yes it will be a touch faster, but don't be surprised if it is just as accurate if not more so.

Bullet Box System Giveaway - Until Shot Show

Those are some sweet ammo boxes!! Entered the drawing, but may be tempted to buy an extra after winning one. :)

    PRS Talk PRS Equipment

I've only shot a few PRS style matches myself, so I'm no expert, but the advice here is great. Wait to buy a bunch of gear until you shoot a few matches and find what you like. It is really neat how many shooters at these matches are more than happy to let you try their gear and/or have a...

    Varget ok for .260??

Haha... Doh, what the heck? ...my bad, thought I was replying to a post from yesterday, not 10 years ago?? Not sure what happened... guess I just get excited about posts related to the .260

Rifle Scopes Looking for a great budget option for family member

I picked up one of those Cronus scopes at the Cabelas sale last year and that has been one of my best shooting deals ever. Great scope regardless of the price, but especially sweet at the sale price!

    Some data with H4350 and RL26 6.5CM

Hard to beat H4350 in the 6.5 Creedmoor! Will be consistent at a wide range of temps as well. I'm still using a Caldwell chrono, need to spring for a Magnetospeed one of these days for the ease of setup at any type of range.

Newbie buying first reloader for rifle Maybe Hornady Lock-n-Load Progressive

For reloading pistol or high volume varmint/target rifle ammo, a progressive is awesome and is capable of loading very accurate ammo. I have both a Dillon 550 and 650 and they are great for that as would be the Hornady you mentioned. That being said, I also have a turret press that I run in...

    Varget ok for .260??

Varget may work okay for you in the .260 H4350 will work without question and give higher velocity. H4350 gives me good speeds and consistent 1/4 MOA groups in my .260

    Go to trimmer?

I just use a Lee trimmer, but would never do them by hand. I chuck up the cutter head/pilot assembly into a bench top drill press. Then I insert a case into the caseholder and slide it onto the spinning (slow rpm) pilot and its trimmed in a second or so. You can sand down the pilot to fit the...

PRS Talk DOPE Card holder to Snap on Rail

Yowzilla, I wouldn't mind trying out one of those dope card holders. Have a home made one now, but it looks more like the ones on your webpage that are meant to point out why a guy should buy yours! :)

K-Bars What Knife is in your pocket right now?

Bought a really nice Jared Oeser folder once, but it was so nice (and spendy) that I couldn't bring myself to carry it in my pocket and get it dinged up. So, sold that off. To be more practical, I use one of two knives for every day carry. 1. For utility, a Benchmade mini griptilian 2. For a...

Rifle Scopes Looking for a great budget option for family member

Yes, the 5-25's at Midway were only available in MOA. I would have been tempted at that price, but my other scopes are all Mil and don't want to inject an MOA into the mix and confuse things. If he looks for a good deal on a 5-25 Vortex Gen II in EBR-2C, they are a very good scope period, but...

    New PRS rifle

Lots of good suggestions in this thread. I would definately recommend putting your own custom rifle together. The prefit barrels and savage nut style actions make it very easy. I had never done anything like that up until a few years ago and once you spend 1/2 hour to 1 hour doing your first...

    ARC Mags

Thanks BWB! Great to hear what others have successfully done to save time and frustration. I don't mind tinkering to get things to work... will definitely put some time into the things you mentioned on the ARC mags when I get them!

PRS Talk Whats the popular caliber these days?

Thanks for the reply! Sounds like I'll start off with some ARC mags since they are working well for you with 6BR and other reports are they work very well for 6.5 CM in the Nucleus which I will also be shooting. Keep me in the loop on how things go with your custom kit... would be interested in...

    ARC Mags

Glad to hear the ARC mags seem to work great in the Nucleus action. That is the only action I would be using them in, so sounds like I will be happy if I get some.
