    300 Norma Improved 30°...sorta.

I'll end up running them long. The magazines let me go out as far as 3.850", depending on the mag. I'm thinking the 3.715" will be sufficient.

    300 Norma Improved 30°...sorta.

Nice setup you have there. The shoulder looks like it's improved forward in that pic. So is the pivot point on your round the shoulder/neck junction? If so, that's exactly what I'm looking for! BTW, I am REALLY hoping Ruger releases their new RPR in 300 Norma...

    300 Norma Improved 30°...sorta.

As it's a slightly overbore case, has anyone tried improving the case by pushing the shoulder back and lengthening the neck? That's what my 6.5 SLR has, and I was wondering if anyone has already gone down that road with the Norma round. Kevin

Gunsmithing Considering a Pac-Nor Poly Barrel, should I?

This is a pic of my 6.5 SLR Pac Nor poly barrel. I haven't shot it yet, so she still looks really nice. This barrel is one of their pre-Sunnen honed barrels, so I would imagine that those barrels might be even smoother yet. I wish the back of the land was as angled as the front.

    Over-thinking barometric pressure...

If you have a barometer ( I bought a Sun analog), you can read your current site pressure. You will lose about 1" per 1K of altitude. The result will be your pressure altitude. Then calculate DA by entering the temp. I use my E6B with the slide removed for a compact way of calculating DA. Nice...

Range Report Load development with my 6.5 Garfield

Re: Load development with my 6.5 Garfield I was running the 140 Berger @ 3000 FPS .010" into the lands with a slightly sticky bolt lift. The round looks like a 6.5 PPC on steroids :-) Kevin Here it is next to a 308 WIN:

Range Report Load development with my 6.5 Garfield

Just threw a load together tonight to go see how it would shoot. I haven't shot any of the Hornady 140 AMAX's yet, so I loaded up 10 with RL17 and went to the range. It was too dark, and the CED skyscreens couldn't pick up my bullets for chronographing, but the results are promising. I shot the...
