    Tripod comparison data request

The original is a lever with a spring. You can do a half a rotation, then you need to pull the lever, rotate back over while pulled, release and then do another half rotation. My mod removes the lever. I threaded the shaft and put the three ear knob on it. Gives me the full range of...

    Tripod comparison data request

A photographer buddy felt it was better and worth the $50 more. Higher load rating, and I like the tension adjustment (I modded mine) location better. I am very happy with it and it performs great. Light, easy to use and from a performance perspective, I have no complaints. I have shot off a...

Actual quote from Todd Jarrett after shooting the buckshot stage at the Lucas Oil Shotgun match this past weekend..."It should be called LUCKSHOT"

Rifle Scopes 3 gun, is daylight bright illume a big advantage???

The Burris XTRII 1-8 is an awesome optic, and what I run on my .308 for Heavy. The .223 had a XTRII 1-5 on it, but switched to a RT6, which I highly recommend for 3Gun. It is priced half of what it compares to. Illumination, eh. I have been shooting 3Gun since 2005, RO'd, MD'd, RM'd a ton of...

Sidearms & Scatterguns Shotshells for Defense

The Aurora Theater shooter fired 6 rounds of 00 buckshot, many wounded, none of the 12 died from buckshot. Several of the other 71 injured had buckshot wounds. Some came close to death. One took a blast in the back, one in the face with a pellet stopping just at the front of her brain. Some...

Sidearms & Scatterguns Novelty Ammo- Mini Shot Shells

You can get more of them in a tube. I shot a round of trap with the birdshot loads the other day. I normally average in the 20s, shot an 18 with them. I shot another 5 rounds letting the targets get out to about 40 yards. I moved targets twice, but broke only 1 of 5. The slugs/buck might...

Load data for the 223 caliber ?? BOLT ACTION

I have found the best loads in my .223Wylde to be just a little ways into the 5.56 load data, like around 1.5 grains over the same bullet in a .223 load that was not at max. I only use LC, Nammo or Lapua brass with CCI41 primers for the 5.56 loads.

PRS Talk My Solution to Prize Table Bias

With a Random number generator, or out of a hat by the sponsor, sure. But the sponsor naming a specific name without verification that it is random, by definition would not be random.

PRS Talk My Solution to Prize Table Bias

Exhibit A: Exhibit B: could well have been 3GN if they had not screwed over so many people on the way. Exhibit C: The Grand American (Trap) pays out $100K to the winner. The problem with Precision, and most action shooting sports as far as TV coverage, is that they are boring to watch for...

PRS Talk My Solution to Prize Table Bias

While I have done 50% shooter, fastest shooter, shooter closest to PAR, highest first match, highest Junior, etc., I would not allow a sponsor to personally pick the competitor to whom their prize went at a match I run. The criteria for the prize must be either random, or a specific stated...

PRS Talk My Solution to Prize Table Bias

I try to live by this principle...If you are going to complain, offer a reasonable solution. Too many clanging cymbals in the world.

PRS Talk My Solution to Prize Table Bias

Great discussion, a some good solutions. I'll toss in my perspectives...I shoot because I love to shoot. I train because I want to enjoy my shooting more. I have run some of the largest matches in the country (none Precision though) in multiple disciplines. Michael Bane even called me the...

    Shooting from a tripod

The attachment has to be solid, stock to tripod, or you are wasting it. Most PRS guys are using an ARCA rail on the gun, clamp on the tripod. There are cheaper ways to go, but you can get into an ARCA clamp and rail section for about $70 that will work fine. Apart from the solid mount, the...

    ar15 .22 upper

There are a LOT of companies that make .22 uppers. The CMMG "pattern" was/is the primary pattern and their original magazines were the bomb. I do not think there is a patent infringement issue. CMMG patented their adapter, there are several "patent pending" and actual patents for little...

    ar15 .22 upper

You have to know what you really want and what the company makes. VERY few match grade (1" at 100 yards) AR22 uppers around. Most are in the 4+ MOA range. The good ones are going to be more money than the cheap ones. The cheap ones usually run most ammo while the more expensive ones are more...
