    Hunting & Fishing Hunting Suppressed?

Re: Hunting Suppressed? I made the mistake in assuming it was legal here in Florida because we ahve some of the most lax hunting laws but apparently not. Not legal to hunt with an automatic or suppressed weapon. Just as diappointing... it is also illegal to hunt with poisonous or explosive...

    Hunting & Fishing Hunting Suppressed?

I searched for awhile so sorry if it's been covered... <span style="font-weight: bold">Does anybody ever use a suppressor when they hunt...Anything?</span> My hearing is going to crap fast and I'm becoming paranoid. I doubled up on hearing protection (plugs and muffs) last time I hunted with a...

Hunting & Fishing My best gobbler so far...

Re: My best gobbler so far... To be honest... I'm not sure. The color and size threw me off. I got him outside of Tallahassee so I'd think it was an Eastern but he was the darkest turkey I've seen in that area. Then again Mother Nature has quite an imagination and evolution never sleeps...

    .260 Pros/Cons?

Re: .260 Pros/Cons? It appears that it all comes down to opinion but I appreciate them all. I didn't mention before that I only own one rifle... a Rem 700 in .308. I went with it because I prefer less recoil than the 30-06 and never shoot past 300yrds. I shot a few deer with a .223 and...

Hunting & Fishing What was the first thing you hunted?

Re: What was the first thing you hunted? Started with squirrels using an air rifle from Walmart in Grandmas back yard. I learned alot about range, shot placement and saftey glasses very quickly. First "real" hunt was quail but It wasn't till I went after turkeys in the Spring that I truely...

    .260 Pros/Cons?

Re: .260 Pros/Cons? <span style="color: #FF0000">"I'm wondering if you aren't confounding bullet "caliber" with "cartridge" (ie, the .308 Winchester cartridge is not the same thing as a .308 caliber bullet)."</span> I probably am, numbers aren't my strength. Never the less... your insight...

    .260 Pros/Cons?

Can anybody clear up a few things in regards to the .260 for me? 1. Isn't the .260 the exact middle caliber between the .223 and .308? 2. If so, why isn't as popular as the .243 or .270? (I realize there's chicken/egg (rifle/bullet) component the this question, so mainly I'm just asking based...

Hunting & Fishing 223 for Whitetail

Re: 223 for Whitetail Shot 3 deer with a .223. Full spectrum of results. One dropped like a stone, one jolted about 25 yards and one went about 75yrds, fighting it the whole time. Like its been said... shot placement and the size of the deer is the key. .223 works great on smaller bucks but...

Hunting & Fishing My best gobbler so far...

Shot this monster on Sunday after 2 days of box-calling and sitting in NW Florida. Not sure of the exact weight b/c the scale technique was less than ideal but I'll say 21lbs to be "honest" and 23lbs for a campfire story. Not the prettiest bird I saw but the biggest by far. 9.25" beard 1 spur...

Hunting & Fishing All around caliber

Re: All around caliber .308 will always get my vote! 30-06 was the first medium cal rifle I ever shot and I thought it was awesome but when I shot the .308 it kicked less and to me thats very important. .308 may not stay as flat and can be overkill on smaller whitetail but I've never shot...
