Reloading Equipment WTB RCBS APS Strips for Small / Large Primer

Looking to get 80 RCBS APS Strips for Small Primer and 80 RCBS APS Strips for Large Primer. Just seeing if there are any out there that are just sitting on the shelves unused.

    Combining mixed batch powders

I remember from years past that Varget lot to lot differences were pretty bad. My intent is to load up and use all the powder at once. I plan to load 4k 60gr Vmax with the H335. That'll go through everything I have in stock (both powder and projectiles). Hoping that'll last me till this...

    Combining mixed batch powders

Good call to check on recalls. I'd definitely check that first. The powders are a few years old so any recalls should have been identified at this point. With the H335, I have an opened 8# jug, an unopened 8# jug and several 1# canisters. Unfortunately, all are from different lots. It...

Powder Options for a couple of Hornady .224 Bullets

I have some IMR 8208 XBR. I'll definitely give this a try.

    Combining mixed batch powders

I have several powders where the powder has been purchased over time and are of course will be different lots. Is mixing the powders so any variance between the different lots is eliminated an option? Specifically would like to do this for H335 and possibly HP-38.

Powder Options for a couple of Hornady .224 Bullets

H335 is something that's readily available. I use H322 for really light stuff (primarily 50 / 52) and it's perfect for that. For 55gr plinking and 60gr accuracy loads, H335 works for me. With the scarcity of Varget (I think I have 7-8#), I'm curious about other options in 223 for heavies...

Powder Options for a couple of Hornady .224 Bullets

AR with 20" Aero Precision 223 Wylde Barrel with 1/8 twist I've been shooting Hornady 50gr Z-Max / V-Max. Still have quite a bit on the shelves and at 100 yards, it is perfect. I use H322, Remington brass, and CCI SRP. I've found a box with what looks to be about 4k Hornady 60gr V-Max (flat...

    178 gr BTHP BLEMS

Hornady blems from my experience are cosmetic. The price differential can be pretty significant depending on the bullet. I scored 2k 140 AMAX last year and they've shot fine out of my 260 Rem. I've gone through 500 so far and haven't had any issues. I've not taken the time to weigh or sort...

Where did all the .300 RUM brass go?

300 RUM is the parent for the 338 Edge and I've wanted to get on that bandwagon, but finding brass has been the reason I haven't even started on that rifle. There have been a lot of peeps jumping on the 338 Edge as it doesn't require Lapua brass or bolt head.

    varget

There are guys on our local hunting forums that have access to all sorts of powder / primers, but yes they are at elevated pricing. I'm good for now, but my primer situation has been somewhat dire. About to rectify that and can keep shooting. Hodgdon will eventually catch up, but it certainly...

    XLR Chassis Stock

Thanks everyone. The action is from a 300 WSM so it already has a shorter baffle. Looks like I'm good and can hopefully place my order for my chassis here shortly.

    XLR Chassis Stock

Hate to necro, but probably easier that I've quoted something useful to better address my question. I'm about to order another XLR Chassis and it will be for a Savage 223, BUT the the action (and all the bolt parts EXCEPT the bolt head) is from a 300 WSM. Is the front baffle OK as is or do I...

    New case trimmer

My buddy and I share a Giraud setup for 223, 308, 260, & 300 BLK. For the price, I wouldn't mind picking one of these up for 223 when the trimmer is at my buddy's house. For most of my 223 loading, I don't need to chamfer/debur if it is as clean as the review has it.

    New case trimmer

Interesting product. Can't tell from the pictures, how do you adjust for trim length? Did you happen to upgrade to the Carbide Cutter? Do you just attach to a drill and then push the brass through the bottom? Does it index off the shoulder?

    Barrels

+1. I've got a 260 Rem that shoots lights out. Jim is excellent to deal with and carries most of the common calibers and profiles. Custom is around 11 weeks at this point and that is MUCH shorter timeframe than the other custom barrel makers.

    Brass prep services? Annealing specifically

For me and a few others locally, this was the best idea. There is a group of three of us, we don't shoot enough to justify buying ONE machine apiece, but we all live close by and trust each other that we went thirds on a Giraud. It stays with one of us and when we have enough brass that needs...
