    Photos 'Snipers' in Aleppo, Syria.

It would be an estimate, of course just based on my observations and could be WAAAAY off. I would say less than 15-20% of Syrian/Arab men pick up arms, maybe more if you count those who just own or carry a firearm for self protection. Fighting on a daily basis, like 2 or 5%, that's not really...

    Photos 'Snipers' in Aleppo, Syria.

Another sniper illustrating the common 'unslung bicycle seated' position'. He also gets points for the fitness regimen. My friend Hamid Khatib shot this. Hamid risks his life every day shooting for reuters. You might see his work and the work of his wife Nour Kelze in Time, Newsweek, and New...

    Barrel Maintenance

I have read a lot of the stuff on here about barrel break-in. And I see that many people like LL are not cleaning very much if at all. So my question is this: What would be a good standard regular barrel maintanance? Really nothing? Not even a patch with CLP down the bore? Not pulling a bore...

CO Rifle Club (CRC) Long Range Precision Rifle

Hi, I've just joined CRC and will be doing my Orientation this weekend (sept 8). I shoot a .223 and have my dope out to 300. If I can get it dialed in out to 600 in time is it worth it for me to come out for this event in September? I'd love to give competition shooting a go, at least just for...

My 300 yd 3/4in Group... Lets see groups past 100 yards.

Top round was a sighter. Adjusted off of that for the five round group below. This is my BEST group at 300, not my average :D I would say I average .65-.75MOA. Maybe a bit higher. Shot with Stock Remington 700 20" tactical .223 with 1:9 twist in a B&C Light Medalist using Black Hills 69gr...

    Photos 'Snipers' in Aleppo, Syria.

Whether Russians are with them or not, I agree with McCrazy, SAA snipers are well-trained, well-equipped, and deadly effective beyond 1000 meters. FSA has no effective counter-ability, even if they get weapons. I HAVE met Chechens at the line. I am not allowed to photograph them, and I would not...

    Photos 'Snipers' in Aleppo, Syria.

There are rumors that there are Russians doing the sniping. As far as I have seen no one has been able to provide any substantiation or evidence of this. It would surprise me if the Russians had anyone actually fighting, though 'advisors' seem legit.

Rem 700 Varmint .223, is this what I should expect for accuracy?

Thanks and good plan. I am not really interested in Bench Rest comp. I would like to find some people here and in SoCal to shoot with though...

Rem 700 Varmint .223, is this what I should expect for accuracy?

This might be a dumb question, but what is BR comp? I actually DO want to get into some sort of match competition, but I am not up on it at all. I have another thread asking about which types of competition. I have read the rules for F-TR and it looks like I could do mid-range/600 with this...

    Photos 'Snipers' in Aleppo, Syria.

Never saw one before (or since) like that... There is a quad pic rail behind the turret knobs and the objective hood is 'scalloped' instead of petalled like many camera lens hoods. I have no idea what scope it is. The most common ones are Nikula scopes with Soviet Mil reticles.

Rem 700 Varmint .223, is this what I should expect for accuracy?

I hope it's OK to post more here... I have been able to get this rifle to average between .5 and 1 MOA with 55 grain Hornady VMAX factory ammo. It's frustrating because I know this rifle can shoot better, but I don't handload, and there aren't really better match 55 grain factory ammo that I can...

    Accuracy Question, 700 Tactical .223 with M223

Hey, I've got a .223 700 in a B&C Light Tactical Stock with a Nikon M223 BDC600 Scope. The range I've been shooting at only goes to 300. I've been shooting consistent .6MOA to .74MOA groups with it at 300 with Black Hills 69 grain. I have shot as good as .3MOA groups with it, but it averages...
