    The Fix from Q

My 6.5cm Fix shoots great, always had, it's an early one with B/T barrel. This was at 100yds with Hornday American Gunner bulk ammo:

    The Fix from Q

I would suspect that if they ever get to using castings it will be cheaper and faster for their manufacturing, and if done right it will have no impact on quality or function in any way. If the rest of the rifle pieces are not able to be produced in volume that surpasses the ability to machine...

Same here, after a couple hundred rounds the bolt lift was much smoother and lighter. At this point I don't see any value in it being lighter, I can run it with one finger so what else would you want really.

    The Fix from Q

Another great day at the range today with The Fix 6.5CM, shot groups at 200 and dinged steel at 300. I made a little softer cheek rest which is nice for bench shooting.

    The Fix from Q

Yes, I've put 350 rounds of it through my Fix 22" 6.5 CM so far, very consistent and nice shooting ammo.

Seekins Havak vs Q The Fix

I considered a Seekins before I bought The Fix, what it came down to for me was whether this was a rifle I wanted to mess around with and modify, or just shoot? I decided this was a "just shoot it" rifle and The Fix was a great choice, I love it. If I wanted lots of options, adjustable...

    The Fix from Q

I haven't seen anyone having a problem feeding factory ammo, the poster above was loading his own ammo to 2.85" OAL and having problems with feeding only from 20-rd mags. I've only ran Hornady ammo so far, but no issues at all in about 200 rounds, other than an intermittent stiff bolt lift...

    Rifle Scopes ‘Beginnerish’ Precision Scope

What mount are you using there, I can't quite tell? I'm considering the same scope for my precision AR with the same stock.

Saw that on Instagram yesterday too, it's helpful. Ryan Cleckner had a little blurb about The Fix on his Going Ballistic podcast last month that I just stumbled upon also: Going Ballistic #45

    The Fix from Q

It's just a cheap UTG bipod I had lying around, I actually have a new Atlas on the way which I'll be mounting up shortly. For bench shooting the UTG is a little too high for me on The Fix even on the lowest setting. I want one of the Qsert direct mount Atlas that Q sells just for the clean...

    The Fix from Q

Starting to get the gun figured out. I'm right at 1/2 MOA with it now after a range session dialing it in at 100 yards, with the Hornady 140gr ammo. I took it out to 200 and 300 and it's a real joy to shoot. The 600 yard bay is down for maintenance at my range, but should be open soon, can't...

    The Fix from Q

No, I'm shooting 140gr Hornady. Here's an interesting reference to barrel length vs. velocity with 6.5CM. I used this to estimate my muzzle velocity at 22" vs. the Hornady velocity listed which is based upon 24". 6.5 Creedmoor- Effect of Barrel Length on Velocity: Cutting up a Creedmoor!

    The Fix from Q

They list the weight of the Proof 308 barrels as 3 lb 3 oz for 24" and 3 lb 7 oz for 26". The OEM Bartlein 16" 308 barrel is listed as 2 lb 3.7 oz, so pretty close to what you measured it at. So basically you get 8" additional barrel length for about a pound. My 6.5 CM 22" barrel is 3 lb 2...

    The Fix from Q

Agreed on the bolt so far, I don't mind this one after a little practice with it. I think I'm going to pick up a Proof 308 barrel also, and I have a Half Nelson Ti can currently in jail that will make a nice addition to that barrel!

    The Fix from Q

Scope is mounted up, heading to zero it tomorrow. The Swaro scope with 50mm objective and BC caps took High rings (Burris Xtreme). The trigger is seriously impressive, after I lubed it up and dry fired a bit, I got 1 lb. 12.5 oz. average trigger pull, and it was less and 0.6 oz difference...

    The Fix from Q

Just picked her up! Scope goes on tomorrow, hopefully to the range to sight in this weekend, can't wait to see how she shoots! The build quality on this is spot-on, props to the boys at Q for some fine workmanship!

Nice! What height scope rings did you use with that Nightforce?

    New guy in Nebraska

Hey all, new guy here from Nebraska, just getting into precision rifle shooting. Been doing lots of pistol competition and a little bit of "tactical" rifle competition, but nothing past 300 yards. Picked up a 6.5 Creedmoor bolt rifle and a hand-me-down scope from a friend to get started...
