DTJB, the dovetail mount is fine. The scope on my T1X is mounted this way and there have been no issues. As mentioned these rifles don't recoil very hard.
Congrats on your new rifle, you're going to like it.
BTW mine shoots SK Std. Plus very well.
I shoot benchrest air rifles at the same club I shoot rimfire. No PCP' though, 300 FWB's and a 601 FWB. I like to hunt and crappie fish in the winter. I like fooling with hot rods and do all my own fabricating, engines, transmissions and rear end set up.
The car below is my 69 Dart, it's a...
I did the same thing and really like it. I use mine for fun, informal sporter benchrest matches and the beavertail forend makes it ride the front bag much better.
I've been a member there for several years and have never had any issues. In the last year I've started buying and shooting Winchester 52's and have picked up a lot of good advice and information there.
Good shooting. I need to pay my 52’s some attention but have been busy with the T1X and the Miroku 52. Also I’ve finally worked out a good accurate load for my Shaw barreled Savage mdl 16 in 260 Remington.
Now that the weather is cooling off it’s time to start shooting air rifles indoors.
I have a Boyds thumbhole stock on my Savage BTVLSS and really like it. So today I looked on Boyds site what they offered for the T1X. Of course the thumbhole is listed for it but I didn't see anything about a LH, so I called. It turns out you can get a LH lightweight thumbhole inleted for the...
Great find! If I were in your shoes I'd give it a good cleaning and shoot it as is. These are fantastic old rifles, one day I'd like to find one to go with my Winchester 52's.
I've had my rifle for about a month now and have a good handle on it. Here are my thoughts. The beavertail forend, vertical grip really make the rifle better on the bench, plus the T3 recoil pad makes the length about right for me. I've ran about 300 rounds through it and haven't had a fail to...
Usually I just pull a couple cotton patch through the bore with a piece of monofilament fishing line after each shooting session. If it's really dirty I'll break out the Bore Tech and a brush, then patches and fishing line.
Picked up my new rifle today and after cleaning and adjusting the trigger down I decided to run a few rounds through it. It fires fine, the trigger is decent, it ejects fine but it doesn't feed very well. Anyone else having feed issues?
It starts the shell out of the magazine then it acts like it's binding before it starts in the chamber. This cycling the bolt slow, if yo pop it seems to feed okay. I didn't check if it's shaving the bullet though.
I mounted a scope on and did some shooting, it shoots CCi SV decent but seems to...
CCI SV.
I'll try pushing the shell all the way to the back of the mag and see how it goes. The bolt picks up the shell and starts the bullet into the chamber but then binds up. I'll try to get some photos after church today.
