    748 for 223

W 748 is my #1 powder in the .223. My daughter and I burned through eight pounds of it in one summer when I was teaching her to shoot at 200 yards. Holy smokes 748 makes some accurate loads! Our load shoots great at 95 degrees or 10 degrees.

Favorite tool for setting sizing die

I used to use all the fancy tools to set up the dies, but a match or a candle work just fine. I even went 21st century and used a sharpie on the shoulder. This way, you don't need numbers and arithmetic, you only screw the sizing die down until it contacts all the way around the shoulder, square...

    Gunsmithing New curing oven

Dang. That looks great! I use 3 each 5 gallon buckets with the bottoms cut out duct taped together with a hair dryer sticking through a hole in the side of the bottom. Yours is way fancier.

    Reloading article on NPR

I'd prefer that reloading stayed low profile. The media is going to get right what they want to get right, and getting things wrong serves the purpose of furthering the liberal agenda. Getting things right is easy with a bit of research, so if they portray the story wrong there's only a few...

    +1 for MidSouth shooters supply

I ordered 6000 Hornady fmj from Midsouth and they delivered 250. I talked to them and the guy said "I'll call you back." Two minutes later he calls and says "Sorry. They're on their way." Must have checked the package weight. Off by 45 lbs. Good service and they don't ream you on shipping.

    .300win mag Hand Loads

I'm liking H-1000 with the 175 CC, but I'm using 81-82 grains. Phenomenal groups at 100. The speed is a bit over 3000 fps with a 23" barrel.

NEED AR loads for 50-55gr with TAC & Benchmark

Re: NEED AR loads for 50-55gr with TAC & Benchmark With TAC and a Hornady 55 grain, the magic happened at 27.1 grains. Slightly hot. TAC seems to like the max loads.

    From Varget tto Win 748

Re: From Varget tto Win 748 Last summer, the kids and I burned up 8 lbs of W 748 shooting .223. I settled on 27.5 grains of 748 and the Nosler 50 grain Ballistic Tip loaded at mag length. At 300 yards, the shots landed on a 2" shoot and see sticker every time. This occurred at 50 degrees, and...

    CTS Trimmers.... check this out...

Re: CTS Trimmers.... check this out... No bearing. I could see this being a problem. Also with the WFT, you run it upside down so the chips fall away. Is this made in China also?

    MagnetoSpeed Chronograph Review

Re: MagnetoSpeed Chronograph Review I have one of these. What I don't get is why a company would sell a product that they know has a fragile part, and when it breaks charge you for a replacement part. Don't get me wrong, it works like a champ, for now.

Advanced Marksmanship Buttstock squeeze bag materials

Re: Buttstock squeeze bag materials Get a small Klein bag from Home Depot, fill it with airsoft pellets, zip it up most of the way and fill the rest using a funnel. When it is packed full, put a glob of blue lock tite on the zipper and zip it up. Works good on a bench and prone. Really easy...

RCBS crapped out tried the Thumbler.... WOW

Re: RCBS crapped out tried the Thumbler.... WOW Sorry, misread your post. I see now that it died. The NuFinish does work, and a regular tumbler is useful for tumbling off resizing lube and to keep the bling.

RCBS crapped out tried the Thumbler.... WOW

Re: RCBS crapped out tried the Thumbler.... WOW Keep your other tumbler. The brass out of the Model B is so clean that it tarnishes quickly. Run them in corncob and NuFinish polish to keep them bright.

    MagnetoSpeed Chronograph Review

Re: MagnetoSpeed Chronograph Review Just got mine today. The display looks and feels pretty light duty. Then you have the clips. Kind of cheesy feeling. Knowing me, this thing is as good as broken.

Where to find cheap XM193 pills ?

Re: Where to find cheap XM193 pills ? I got some of the Hornady 55 grain fmjbt for $452 delivered for 6000 bullets from Mid South. They ship in a USPS flat rate box. I coaxed four shots into one hole at 100 yards with another flier 1/2 inch away using 26 grains 8208 xbr in LC 09 brass...
