Do I want a suppressor on my 338 AXMC?

That is the question. I love this gun, I reload for it and shoot it a lot... That being said, one of the reasons I shoot it a lot is it is also very low recoil for what it is. Will adding a suppressor boost the recoil up by any significance? Also, what brand would you go with and why? I...

Rifle Scopes Value proposition on LVPs

I have not shot with the ATACR yet but I have with the NX8. I agree when you go above 6x power, you have to shoot these things like a scope on a PRS gun. I think these variable scopes are a great addition to the market but are kinda like a crossover SUV. They don't do any one thing great, but...

Rifle Scopes Value proposition on LVPs

Finally got my ATACR in and mounted. Finally compared it to the NX8 my relative put on his KAC rifle. NX8 wins on weight and size. I actually think the illumination on it is better. ATACR wins on better clarity/eye box. I like the reticle better as well. NX8 loses on eye box and wished...

Rifle Scopes Value proposition on LVPs

I can tell you I have had a Kahles, a family member has an NX8 now, and I decided to pony up to try out the new ATACR 1-8 which delivers this week. The kahles really is incredible for up close work because of the eye box and FOV, very clear. I question its durability though... The NX8 to me...

Rifle Scopes About to buy a Mark6 Leupold 1-6...

Have you played with the 1-8 ATACR? I would think the eye box would be even tighter on it but I could be wrong...

Rifle Scopes About to buy a Mark6 Leupold 1-6...

I would appreciate any input about this optic or if there is another similar optic that you think is a better option. It will be going on a 'combat' 7.62 AR10. I like it for the reticle drop lines similar to an ACOG but still be able to dial if needed... Thoughts?

    285 ELD-M .338 lapua Load development quandary

I'm having good success with them seated about .070 off the lands (because of magazine) and 88.2gr's of H1000 for 2730fps range. ES is about 18-22fps on a given day. Lapua brass by the way.

So my GAP 6.5Creedmoor is out shooting my AXMC 338Lapua at distance... Update! (bottom of page 2)

The gun is shooting great now with the newer heavy barrel from AI. It can reliably hit the head of a 66% IPSC at 600yds and I'm ready to stretch out past my 1,400yd range now. I found a place on my property were I can get about a 1.3 mile shot.

    Rifle Scopes NXS or ATACR

If I 'had' to choose between those 2 then yes. If it were me I would sit back and watch the For Sale section for a deal on something FFP and a little more zoom. I bet you could find a k624i slightly used for the price of a new ATACR 4-16.

Suppressors Best of the Best 5.56 suppressor

I have the newer knights CQB 5.56 suppressor and it is tits. It's louder obviously because it is short but when wearing hearing protection it sounds like it's wearing a full sized suppressor. The build quality on it beats everything out there, but you will pay north of $1,500 with stamp and...

Terrapin X vs. Geovid HD-B vs. Sig 2400

I have the Leica binos and the new Terrapin. The terrapin is a better ranging tool no doubt. The Binos are a better for hunting and hobby. I shoot anything from 50% to 100% IPSC targets on my own range. I can tell you that when you get to 750+ yards, the terrapin starts to shine. The...

So my GAP 6.5Creedmoor is out shooting my AXMC 338Lapua at distance... Update! (bottom of page 2)

Final results are in: Unfortunately I only made 20 rounds because I didn't totally trust my reloads but after the fact, I think I am good to go now... It was still shooting .5" groups at 100 yds, I laddered out to 570 then started to jump big in distance, this is the 2 shots at 570: Then I...
