.223 precision 'snipers league' - scope choice?

K318i is a good pick. You can sometimes find deals on Kahles scopes - I paid just over half for my K624 vs my ATACR and the scopes are pretty comparable.

    The AR15 Picture Thread

Had an AR with a Triji 1-8, UBR, and a 13.5” NSR that wasn’t a whole lot of fun to shoot at anything but man sized or bigger steel (reticle center covered a full mil, the damn thing was hard enough to zero) - decided to turn it into a wrong handed MK12 Mod H, and it’s now a ton of fun. Lighter...

    300 PRC update

I shoot a gas Beretta with an oversized gel pad… so I know what you’re thinking! N570 seems to help with recoil - it’s slow burning and more of a push than the snap I’ve gotten out of some magnums.

    300 PRC update

I worked up a load for 250s, N570 and Lapua brass (CCI mag primer) - 78.0 gr, 2.900 CBTO (mag length). Started at 75 and worked up - got minor pressure signs at 78.5 and mild ones at 79. Didn’t push it any farther than that - getting 2775 out of a 26” barrel and can.

    300 PRC update

I did notice my Lapua brass started to develop ejector marks when the primers were much flatter than with Hornady brass. I think the internal volume is smaller though - you might be able to get better velocity on not quite as much charge. I also saw a decent decrease in SD/ES with the Lapua brass.

    300 PRC update

The Bergaras come with CIP length mags, you can load up to 3.750. I have 250 A-Tips running in an identical magazine setup, mag length is .050 off the lands in my rifle. Could jam into the lands at mag length with 210 Bergers, the ogive on the A-Tips is just a little too long and slippery.

    300 PRC update

.335, although I haven’t shot the Lapua yet. Tried Hornady with 336,335,334 and settled on 335. Have loaded up a 30 round OCW ladder with Lapua, hopefully will get to try it out next weekend.

    300 PRC update

I really think the stringing is coming from the firing point. Looks pretty unstable, you might consider putting the rest on a prepared spot of ground or off the pickup bed and shooting prone?

    300 PRC update

Berger had worries about that when I talked to them - they specifically recommended against RE26 for the 230s and 245s because of the fill ratio. I did shoot some 210s with 26 and I got up to 2990 before I got pressure signs on a 26” barrel jammed into the lands. I’ve since switched to N570 and...

    Optic for Ar-15 "SPR/DMR" build

I just snagged one for 1050 in a Larue, mil-mil, but an older mildot reticle, illuminated, zerostop . The new reticles (Mil-R) will come in closer to that $1400 price, and non matching turrets / no zero stop come in cheaper unless they’re clone correct (in which case they’re $$$$)
