M40 scope base project by LRI

I sure hope he’s doing a batch of 50-100 because we all need one and some of us 2 or 3. Look amazing in the pictures and the rings are blazed to the bases like the originals.

New McMillan HTG M40A1 smear stocks!!!

Yes, the 2112 modified the trigger guards and floor plates. The stock were shipped to the Marines non-inletted, that was also done by the 2112's. In one of the old sniper documentary/episode on the history channel in the show Sniper: one shot - one kill; its currently on prime under Navy Seals...

When you do put this on sale, I’ll take 2 and maybe a 3rd for a future build.

New McMillan HTG M40A1 smear stocks!!!

Absolutely love the “no one trustworthy.” That’s just too good not to laugh at. 😂 I’m suprised the one we don’t speak of still has listing up and that people are buying from his still. I’ll be honest, I thought about buying a set of his bottom metal but I just can’t bring myself to do it. Plus...

New McMillan HTG M40A1 smear stocks!!!

eBay but the steel post 64 trigger guards are harder to find than the post 64 floorplate. I’m kicking myself for selling the 2 extra I had last summer. Wasn’t playing yet another A1 build but here we are 🤷

    M40A1 or M40A3 or M40A5

Are you talking with a 1st Gen. A4 stock with the big hook in the buttstock? I’ve thought about building another one with the 1st Gen. Stock. Love the a4 stock for shooting prone, yet I’ve every only shot one elk in the prone position and it was with my A3 too.

    M40A1 or M40A3 or M40A5

Sexiest USMC Sniper Rifles: M40A1 tied with the pre war Winchester M70 in a sporter stock. Favorite to shoot: by far the M40A3. Disregard old roommates hideous red couch 😂

Do not deal with The Hogs Den

That what I heard too and just assumed he was closed. The website is still up but I haven’t called or email to verify since I currently don’t have a need too (for a build).

Do not deal with The Hogs Den

The pins are what provide the mount strength under a shear load. The recoil of the gun produces a shear style of load. Rifle goes backwards, scope kinda sits there until the recoil movement catches up with the scope via mount & rings. Think of it as pulling the table clothes out from under the...

Do not deal with The Hogs Den

Are you asking or stating that he’s still in business, since you put a ? after it. He built mine in ‘12. Even stopped in to visit him once during the build as I was passing through. He did his own bluing in house. Super nice guy. My M70 is the only tba I own.

Do not deal with The Hogs Den

One last comment for my daily rant. The 3 of his mounts that I intentionally twisted off the rings from of the 5 I’ve handle in the last 10 years. All had a 1/4” dia by 1/4” long dowel pin centered under each ring. It serves the purpose of keeping the rings aligned and on center. It also serves...

Do not deal with The Hogs Den

His shit is not professional black oxided. Here’s his mount that I bought in May/September of 2021. Literally just broke off a ring. Made a video of it. Anyone know how to post a video? If it was professional done and submerged in the black oxide solution/process. There would be 0% non black...

Do not deal with The Hogs Den

I think TBA is closed but not sure. I had Mike build my M70 back in 2012. Also, I believe his mounts have the rings screwed to the base from the top side of the lower ring section.

Do not deal with The Hogs Den

I mean this in the nicest possibly way. Most people are uninformed or misinformed on a lot of things. Most of us here know things are rare, which may cause us to ignore red flags, impulse buy or to settle for unfavorable quality or conditions of parts. The one that we all fell for is, how the...
