Spomer is slightly more mellow but JVB recently had a public meltdown about using 6mm cartridges for big game hunting. He ended up having to remove a podcast episode after lying about the experiences of people he knows (they corrected him publicly). Neither of those guys understand how bullets...
The key to shooting the sniper through his scope was the rifle (evidence that it happened) conveniently disappearing from the armory. And the key to shooting the NVA general was the fact that there's also no evidence it ever happened.
Either way, I'm sure if he had been given a fancy ass...
This addresses every reservation I had about the previous generation of Havaks (barrel length, ability to easily attach ARCA rail, cheek riser). While keeping the price the same. Just outstanding work from Seekins.
I mean I'd love for them to make their Match/Hunt rings in something a little higher than 1.25" at least. I want to use them for hunting and probably NRL Hunter but to get the 1.5" height you need to use the one piece mount that weighs a full pound.
Dissecting some of the Hathcock stories makes people more uncomfortable. The rifle whose scope he shot through conveniently disappeared from the armory. There are other stories he told that are almost or entirely unsupported by evidence.
1. There appears to be no evidence the "Apache Woman"...
I'm not sure where the line is but to me making up the Super Dome thing and making up shooting two guys at a gas station is more in the fraud category. I'm sure he exaggerated a lot of real events as well so maybe he was both at once.
I'm holding out hope that NF (as well as other manufacturers) is holding out for the Swarovski FOV patent to end and then we'll be inundated with new unrestricted scopes across the board. Of course that has no basis in reality since I don't think NF cares about the patent in the first place.
Keep in mind the NYPD's size and budget is on par with a medium country's military. They pay hundreds of millions in unnecessary overtime every year so cops can play candy crush on the subway. This is nothing to them.
For clarification (I might have my terms mixed up) by RTZ do you mean ability to retain zero or the scope just tracking back to the original zero when dialed back down?
Would the shift be due to a change of ammo?
Wouldn't the temp/altitude difference have to be from sea level to 15,000+ feet or something to make a difference to a 100 yard zero? And what's the minimum bump the rifle has to take to make you check zero?
I'm really curious about this topic since...
I see it as their way of taking the 6mm gamer cartridges out of it. However I agree about it having no practical correlation to hunting. You have to keep in mind though that 99.9% of hunters do not understand how bullets work or kill things.
What I need to do is track down the Huber's slave pins. Then I can just take it out, grab the BnA Pro-X off my Fuzion, and test it out. The barreled action went unused for a long time after I got it and only has 200 rounds on it so maybe it just needs a fair bit more break-in. The LP Fuzion's...
Using the Youtube chapter feature would be awesome but I like long reviews. Most 10 minute tabletop reviews are reading off a feature/spec description and saying "I like it". Much rather get one long in depth review than have to slog through ten different 5 minute videos of someone trying to...
You've said your Mausingfield M5 with a BnA feels great. Did you use the sear that comes standard with the BnA or switch anything around? Just thinking of trying one on my Mausingfield since the bolt lift (with a TT Special and Huber) is extremely stiff.
