    Sidearms & Scatterguns Fnx 45

    I have the FNX 45 tac. It's a big gun but shoots like a dream. I have large hands so it fits me well. Factory tall night sights are calibrated a bit low for my liking, but not too bad. It has been reliable for me, although I have only about 150 rounds through it. An octane 45 is on order.

    Thanks for the input gentlemen. I jumped on the TNVC christmas sale, ordering the PVS 14 L3 Gen 3 Omni 8, and the LDI Dbal class one laser. Gonna research mounts a little, but am leaning towards the Wilcox L4 G70 system.

    Berger 155 vs 175 or 185 for .308

    Check out RL17. I haven't had a chance to complete my load development with it and the 185 juggernauts but it looks promising. Seems to be a good powder for pushing heavier than standard bullets to higher velocities without pressure signs.

    Benchmark or 8208 XBR for 155 gr?

    I recently loaded some 155 scenars -.010 of the lands over 8208 in lapua brass ignited by CCI BR2 primers. I loaded from 43.1 to 44.3 in .3 grain intervals. They all shot 1/2 moa or better. 43.4 gave me an unbelievable 1 hole group of .09. Mostly luck I am not ashamed to admit. 44.3 came...

    Love mine. Outstanding suppression, and I have fired 5 shot groups down around 1/4 moa with it. Great can for the money.

    60 Gr. VMAX Powder Help

    Another vote for tac. I have driven the 60 grain vmax to 3200 FPS out of an 18 inch tube using it, with sub moa accuracy.

    I am very happy with mine, especially for the price. It is obviously heavier than the titanium cans, but sound reduction is right there with the best. I have shot many sub 1/2 moa groups at 200 and 300 yards with mine on a custom 700 in .308.

    I own two 4.5 -14 x 40 LRT's and love them. Reticles are straight and clicks are accurate and positive. Never had to send them in for anything, except to have a TMR reticle installed in one, and the service was fast and friendly.

    Load up some M2 162 AP bullets in a .300 ultra and be done with it. 3300 fps should be easy, and no potential legal issues to deal with. Velocity pierces armor more so than mass.

    We did this in Vietnam. Would be quite destructive to moral not knowing if your weapon would blow up in your face or not.

    How far off the lands are you seating the 185's? I have some loaded up at .005 off. It barely fits in my AICS mag, and required modding the feed ramp. Havent had an opportunity to shoot them yet.

    I don't have any good info for you, but plan to develop an identical load using RL17 and the 185 berger in a Lapua case when time allows. I will be looking forward to your results. Should be an outstanding LR load at 2700 fps.

    Apologies for hijacking the thread, but are the 155's available anywhere? I have a class in June and need to load up a few hundred more rounds.
