    New to ELR & Spotter Scope Recommendation

    Get that viper yet? Curious how you like it. Im in the same boat and thinking for the price its a solid spotter. If I were to step up from that, I think I would end up with the NF TS80. I spent a few hours behind one a couple weeks ago and its amazing!

    OK after reading this again and digesting it better (without the kids in my lap..) I think the 30 MOA rail and reticle may be the better option as this will get me ~22.5 mils of elevation to play with, and then I can hold over the remaining ~4 or so in the reticle. Also this will not limit me...

    Thanks for the comments..just getting back to the board to review. Just to be clear, I have a 20 MOA rail currently and with that, I have 19.5 mils left in the scope to dial (not including the reticle holdover). @b2lee thanks for the explanation and breakdown, that helps. @gnochi thanks...

    Just curious on the 140 ELDM, whats your avg FPS? I just zeroed my new NX-8 this week and shot 16 rds or 140 ELDM with a avg FPS of 2626 and a SD of 27. Im planning to attempt a mile this Sunday and not sure what to load in strelock.

    Good question although Im not sure if the store would allow you to just return the manual. TBH if the price is good, I dont think its that big of a deal. You will likely use a computer more for reloading than a hardcover book.

    Rifle Scopes How many MOA is too much?

    I will not routinely need it but I have the opportunity to shoot out to a mile here locally and would like to have the full range in the dial without haveing to rely on holdover in the reticle.
