SOLD 600 count CCI 400 free to good home - DFW

Cleaning up the bench and found an open box of 1k (600 left) CCI 400s I won’t be using. If you’re in the DFW area and in need - they’re yours.

Rifle Scopes New March-FX 4.5-28X52 HM WA

Now that I’ve shot it a bunch I thought I’d come back and say I’m definitely keeping it. I’ll admit I’ve always been partial to March but for the reticles and sensitive parallax. Shot plenty today at 1000 and on this 223 it’s an ideal fit with a *much* improved reticle, and no noticeable finicky...

    Manners stocks with thumb depression

I like the shelf as well and am surprised it’s not an option on all the stocks, particularly the PRS2. They can and will add the shelf, but be advised it’s cut into the material and painted over, similar to the ejection port. Unlike the models where they’re standard and molded in so the carbon...

Thinking out loud, a reticle for the OEM crew

“Apples and Oranges” Concur. I found the reticle I was referring to and it’s considerably smaller than I remembered and the one above. I retract (and deleted) my clueless observations.

Thinking out loud, a reticle for the OEM crew

Yes, but not a fan of the center circle. IMO, if you make the center dot .06-.07 there’s no need for the circle. You won’t like it when shooting paper. March tried something similar (an enclosed, open center) and it was a bust.

Thinking out loud, a reticle for the OEM crew

That's actually my primary complaint with the older March FML reticle. I use it extensively and .5 is just too wide for comfortable, accurate holds. Not sure why .25 is not used. My other complaint is .1 is just too big for the center dot. Ilya's new style is .075 I believe, which is much...

Wet tumbling what a difference WOW

    Respectfully, you're hypothesizing.

Thinking out loud, a reticle for the OEM crew

Agreed. That or the Minox Mr4. (without the additional .1 grid )

Wet tumbling what a difference WOW

Wet tumble is all I’ve known and I’ve never had an issue with SDs. I also don’t buy into the sticky neck theory. New brass works just fine, and I seriously doubt a bullet is affected one iota by not lubing a case neck that is blown open at 60,000 psi.

Rifle Scopes New March-FX 4.5-28X52 HM WA

As mentioned earlier, I mount the scope a slot further back than my other scopes. (Could just be an anomaly with me, cause I’ve thought about moving the ZCO back as well) But, if you so the same, lows wont cut it due to the short, sloped bell. Mediums work on this sendero profile. Shot a bunch...

    Inconsistent shoulder bump

Ah, light bulb coming on I think. You’re saying use a case thats been fired 3+ times, with little to no bump, and use that as the go to size for future sizings. (With maybe -.001 for good measure?) And consequently, spring back will suffice after that? Pretty sure thats where I’m at regardless.

    Inconsistent shoulder bump

Over the life of these specific Peterson 6.6 CM cases (now at 18 reloads), I’m sizing with Whidden full length bushing dies.

    Top tier scope choice

IMO, March has the simplest zero stop out there. Dial the screw cap with a coin. Done.

    Inconsistent shoulder bump

    Well, actually I am. About .001 - .0015.

    Inconsistent shoulder bump

Well I’d like to know the magic behind your process. I AMP anneal Peterson brass every firing, use a Forster press, lube lightly with Redding die wax and size with Whidden dies - there’s no way I can bump the shoulders *without* dialing a bit past plate touch. (Actually a slight cam over) I can...

Rifle Scopes New March-FX 4.5-28X52 HM WA

Concur, the drawings don’t do the reticle justice. In actual use, it’s very nice. My ”eyebox” and eye relief relief comments are more observations than criticism - the scope is very, very nice in form, function and experience. There is nothing out there that competes in compactness, mag range...

    Inconsistent shoulder bump

I AMP anneal *every* firing and still have difficulty maintaining absolute bumping with a CoAx. There are too many variables to expect absolute +- .001, IMO.

It's not terrible, just more noticeable than the ZCO and Minox I'm comparing it to.

Rifle Scopes New March-FX 4.5-28X52 HM WA

Though it seems "eyebox" is a numerically defined value, my impression of this scope is you do need to be more conscious of proper alignment with this scope for the perfect image - more so than any other scopes I use. Also, though the eye relief if listed as about 70-90 mm, for me, to get the...
