    300 PRC update

    My preferred method is to put a cheap chrono behind the steel plate your shooting and at the distance you are shooting. I did this for my 6.5 CM and trued the BC to actual speeds. Now that I have the 300PRC new loads tested I might try the same thing at 1000yds next time I'm shooting.

    I had dented casemouths at first as well. I super glued a pice of old style thick mousepad to the receiver rubber side out and fixed on the cheap. Just checked the rounds I shot Saturday and they are perfectly round.

    similar - most of my loads with 105s are @ 28.6 with LVR (2600fps 20") - ladder loaded and got pierced primers at 29gn so down one node.

    Good to know. I have some staball I may use next time. I doubt I will go that high on the load. I normally load most of my ammo in the mid range velocities/pressures and work up looking for pressure.

    Using LVR I had issues with the gas tube clogged up and keeping the action from running - but that was at about 2k rounds. Replace gas tube and it runs again.
