    Tikka T1X

My mistake, looks like the front pin is holding the section of firing pin. I tried punching the pin out but it didn't budge. Might need heat if its loctited or something to stop it from sliding out and becoming a problem. If something has broken though id be chasing down Beretta to replace it...

    Tikka T1X

@Redshako I was going to make a video how to do it for replacing the bolt shroud. Punch the pin out from the shroud, make sure you hold onto the shroud when you remove the punch because there's a lot of spring tension pushing backwards. You can use a pin punch or even a small enough allen key...

That's a pain... can you show a photo how/where it broke? Hope you get sorted out and back in business.

    Tikka T1X

The Sterk T1x parts have only juuuuust been officially announced, allow a bit of time for Eurooptic and Tacticalworks to have them listed. The T1x parts are not the same as the T3 parts though, the T1x swept ball handle had to be a completely new design - just uses the same knob on the end. The...

    CZ 457

@POGPride nice build, so is the 457 factory handle pre-threaded? Whats the story there?

    Tikka T1X

Watch the bolt stop as you pull the bolt back and forward... that might be the dragging youre experiencing? Otherwise a good clean and oil might improve it. It's not common for tikka/sako to leave any rough machining but it's possible. Theres a few cross pins in the bolt too which need to be...

    Tikka T1X

Looks good, can you please take a pic of the inside backbone and trigger guard? Id love to see how its all attached with room for the mag well.

    Tikka T3 Thread

You are 100% correct that the Tikka bolt bodies are not perfectly round. The dovetail cut out and cocking ramp are machined before heat treatment (easier on tools) so they heat up and cool slightly unevenly. Factory plastic shrouds will flex easily as well as t3x 'alloy' shrouds are super loose...

Tikka T3/T3x - Ball Bolt Handle

Thanks guys for the recommendation. Yes the next batch is creeping up, looking at doing some T1x parts as well as the usual T3 parts.

    Painting a Tikka stock

Or just cure it real low and slow. A hot car gets hotter than the minimum temp to cure cerakote. Ive baked plastic oakley sunglasses with cerakote no problems.

    Tikka T1X

there's an m5 screw in the t1x handle but you don't need to take it off to fit the plastic tikka knob. Unwind the screw to allow the plastic knob to come off - it has a plastic umbrella inside it that is opened when the screw is wound tight (gripping inside the metal tikka handle).

    Gunsmithing Cerakote Working Temperature Range

I've blow torched cerakoted parts until they were cherry red. The Cerakote turns to a fine powder that you can wipe off. It still 'stains' the metal though so would still require blasting before new Cerakote application.
