Good Red Dot for Lever Gun?

Seems to do the trick. Zeroed at 50 yards, then 100, then shot one 3-shot group and called it good. Came in a little smaller than 3/4 MOA, off-hand at 100. Then had fun hitting steel. 40 rounds was more than enough. I've got a black and blue welt the size of a baseball lol. This thing kicks like...

Good Red Dot for Lever Gun?

I wound up grabbing a few different options to compare. The ACRO P2 looks nice but the window is on the smaller size and nobody has them in stock. The Trijicon RMR HD looks like a great option, but again... nobody has them in stock or maybe they're aren't out yet? I grabbed the Holosun 508T...

A-Star B2/B3: Any Heli Pilots, Mechanics, or Engineers?

See below The business model I'm talking about is more of a dry lease, where the private owner of the machine leases it to a helicopter operator to add to their fleet. The operator provides their own insurance, labor, pilots, engineers, mechanics, maintenance, hanger, etc. for a contracted...

A-Star B2/B3: Any Heli Pilots, Mechanics, or Engineers?

Awesome. What's your opinion of them? I do a bit of heli skiing up in B.C. each season in A-Stars. One of the pilots I flew with expressed interest in finding a partner to buy one. Wants to own and lease it out to an operator he flies for as a business opportunity. Seems like a cool idea, but...

Good Red Dot for Lever Gun?

No worries. Yeah, they make a version without the rail and one with full-length. They also make two short rail sections you can add to the one without rail—a bare bones rail and one with their sighting system. The one with the full-length rail is the one I have and it's solid.

Good Red Dot for Lever Gun?

The factory wood on mine was garbage. This furniture was a good upgrade for sure. Plus it gives you more real estate to grab on the forend if you're tall like me. The stock hand guard was way too short.

Good Red Dot for Lever Gun?

Do you have this same full-length rail? It's super solid on mine... The previous version didn't have a full length rail.

Good Red Dot for Lever Gun?

What's an RPD? I don't see anything resembling that name anywhere.

Chisel Machining. It's really nice. Probably higher quality than the rifle itself lol

Good Red Dot for Lever Gun?

You think 1 MOA or 2 MOA will be too small?

Good Red Dot for Lever Gun?

I saw the other recent thread about red dots on pistols, but I'm thinking of getting one for a novelty lever action I'm putting together. Purpose is literally just for a fun toy. I won't be hunting or carrying it for any real purpose. It's one of those silly modern lever gun builds on a Marlin...

Throat length on 6.5 Creedmoor chamber

Well... then the ammo itself is the culprit because I'm measuring random factory samples from many thousands of rounds of Hornady ammo to get my BTO measurement. Anyway, doesn't matter as long as it shoots.

Rifle Scopes Tangent Theta AIF (locking turrets) explained

Seems to me the spinning design is as y'all said: if you knock the scope against something, the turret spins freely to avoid any damage. If it were fixed, maybe there's a possibility of transferring more force to the mechanism? That's my guess anyway. It's basically like a car's crumble zone...

Throat length on 6.5 Creedmoor chamber

Following up with this. New barrel is chambered and on. Confirmed the reamer is 100% dead nuts SAAMI spec. Jump in freshly cut chamber with factory Hornady 140gr ELD-M rounds is 0.039 and change, give or take. I will measure again when I'm not tired. But this confirms what I was saying before...

6.5 CM throat erosion and rebarrel

UPDATE: New barrel is chambered and on. Just measured new chamber in the same way I did before and a brand new chamber cut with a CONFIRMED reamer that is SAAMI spec. Jump with factory Hornady 6.5 CM, 140gr ELDM = 0.03969" average. This is in line with the estimated jump on the previous barrel...

    Cleaning Muzzle Brakes?

I've tried dishwashing soap before and I've never been able to get it to remove any carbon whatsoever. What brand are you using?
