I saw this thread pop up this morning and thought, "My time has come." 🤣 Depending on what else you have on the rifle, I think it should be a pretty handy rifle. I think mine is going to come in around 6.75 lbs no optic, balance point somewhere in the magazine well.- MarkLeupold

What would you build/buy?
It sounds quite a bit like what I'm currently trying to do with my first build. 15.1" CLE Recon barrel, 223 Wylde, 1-7.7" twist, mid gas, A2 birdcage flash hider. CLE Barrel: Recon vs Tactical
If you know the weight of the barrel with receiver extension, and the diameter at the muzzle, I can get pretty close for a 16" barrel. If you don't know the weight, I'd have to know each separate diameter of the taper and their positions on the barrel to estimate total weight. Something like this:- MarkLeupold

Does anyone know the differences between the Compass Lake Engineering Recon contour and Tactical contour.
