    LMT .308 MWS

    Speaking of the LMT DMR stocks, I just bought a MWS with one on it. Should be here in a couple days. I’m curious if others are pleased with them (compared to other DMR stocks). I like that it’s easy to switch out if needed.

    I don’t particularly want to trade my Scar heavy, but I have a chance to trade it for a GAP built Templar action, with a 24” Bartlein barrel, in a McMillan M40A3. I realize the GAP is worth more, but money doesn’t always equal a good trade..... Thoughts?

    I have two thoughts about the OPs question. One side of me says that for 800 bucks you can get a Colt le6920 OEM2 without any furniture for 700 bucks. Then you get whatever stock/rail you want and maybe a new trigger later on. Could probably do that for less than a 1000 and be into a very decent...

    The last paragraph is very true to me. I've found there is a strong correlation between post count and time invested as a member of a forum. If you spend enough time on a forum, you're bound to make some friends, and your post count will rise naturally.

    Once you get the iron sights dialed in, you may just like them enough to stick with them until your eyes force you to get optics. I like irons sights on M1As.

    Just thinking out loud here. If you buy a Socom (which is a great gun) and then stick it into a Gen 3 JAE stock, you will be well on your way to a Scar 17. That might be a good semi auto that would meet your described needs. FAL might be another option? Not sure about optics mounting for that...

    The 3rd generation JAE is tremendously expensive for a rifle that you aren't looking to get ultimate accuracy out of. I'm not sure I would go that route with a Socom. A Socom will certainly mount into the JAE stock, but it's not really geared towards that. The Socom is supposed to be light and...
