Any interest on any of the rifles or scopes if I broke them up?

I’m taking advantage of the Minox 50% off and was buying the ZP 5-25x56 which is longer than the AMG. Anyone running this scope on one of these rifles? Should I be concerned with the length?

Sorry. I didn’t notice that you had asked your question on the thread. Not for absolute certain, but in every instance I can find from Kimber in the 84, the barrel is 9. I would assume this would be the same.

That looks like it could be over the 8 oz suggested above. If I get the rifle, I may take the firearm to a friend and have him print me a lighter plastic forearm for hunting in cold temps.

Yeah. I finally found the weight savings in the DEsert Tech blog. Was just coming here to post that but thanks. I should have been more thorough in my research

I've read several pages of this thread but haven't covered all 230 pages. I'm in the process of considering a build, but the Desert Tech SRS is really tempting me, especially at the lighter weight A2. It's light enough that I feel I could hunt with it. I have a couple questions for the...

I know. The price of entry is a little steep, though. Also totally doesn’t allow me to assemble anything.

Right. As far as opinions on what is the "best" set up, I know better than to ask that. I was really asking what people thought were the components you thought were most crucial vs. components you could go cheaper on until you could buy your ideal. For example: I mentioned I wanted to get...

True enough. I'm not going to manufacture any of the parts. I would enjoy sourcing the parts and then assembling the rifle. I don't want to have GAP or JP handle it for me. Nothing wrong with someone else assembling the rifle, but there's nothing wrong with me assembling the rifle, either...

True, but the brown truck goes anywhere in the country, too. If we're going to use the standard of it's available in the mail then pretty much anywhere is accessible. I thought you were pointing it out because most people assume that if you live in Oklahoma, they assume Oklahoma City and...

Thanks. I won’t be doing the machine work myself. Tulsa is quite a ways and we don’t go there often, but I’ll keep the name handy.

I probably should have explained a bit more. The point of the rifle is that I build it. I have initially chosen the Bighorn action because of the number of shouldered pre-fit barrels and Savage threaded barrels that fit their actions. I'm sure that there are other actions with equal number of...
