Rifle Scopes Is there a market for a good MPVO

Do you think there would be interest for the V6 2-12x50 and V8 1.8-14x50 with exposed turrets and the AHR reticle? Not thrilled with SFP but might be what some are looking for? Here's the reticle with DLB center illuminated dot...

Rifle Scopes Is there a market for a good MPVO

I’d like to see lighter too, but wouldn’t want to impede optical or mechanical integrity so there is a balance. The ZCO and Leupold 2-10x30’s I think are too heavy for 2-10x30’s and a big part is because they took existing erector and eyepiece designs and incorporated into the smaller optical...

    2025 SHOT Show Optics

Maybe that was ATI’s strategy after seeing the interest from the community with the unobtanium (mil only) AMG 1-10 shorty, they bring out their version. EO has been getting a few AMG’s they bundle with rifles so at least we have a few in the wild.

The zerotech has a motorized zoom so could be quite different. China is often copying other designs.

Rifle Scopes Steiner T6Xi 3-18x56 Review and comparison with NF ATACR 4-16x42, S&B US 3-20x50 and March 4.5-28x52

Especially now that Schmidt jacked their prices again to “you’ve got to be kidding me” levels, maybe by fall they’ll realize they are loosing revenue and drop them back down to reality, this has been a common pattern with Schmidt for a while now.

Rifle Scopes Is there a market for a good MPVO

Interesting thought with the integrated mount, the new Eotech 3-9 is very interesting but would want FFP. Built in mounting plate forward of the turret housing would be ideal too.

Rifle Scopes Is there a market for a good MPVO

You’re absolutely right about illumination, I felt I was forgetting something when I hit send, with all the new illumination tech ot shouldn’t be too difficult. When you say limit to 44mm I assume to not go over 44mm right?

Rifle Scopes Is there a market for a good MPVO

Think of this thread as a petition to manufacturers to show there is serious interest in this type of scope if done right. First I think we need to define what an MPVO is so we don't confuse this with a crossover scope or a hunting scope et al. The term MPVO is a natural progression of the...

Rifle Scopes Alpha Class High Magnification 6-36/7-35 FFP Scope Review

You're probably right, I used to do flare/halation at all the mag ranges I tested at but it was becoming a pain and I wasn't sure if anyone was actually getting anything out of that, but now that I know I'll try to remember to put that back in... I know I said in the review that I wouldn't say...

Rifle Scopes Vortex RG3 6-36x56, Element Theos 6-36x56 and Zeiss LRP S3 6-36x56 Review

Oh nice. Has your experience mimic'd what I share in my review or do you have different thoughts? I'm always curious how much sample variance plays a role here.

    SAI 10 1-10

Now we're talking, but most manufacturers still think gas gun shooters want an LPVO, they haven't caught on to the new trend of piggybacking an RDS and now this crowd is recognizing that for engagements beyond 300 yards it is nice to have a scope that is actually designed for this and not a...

Rifle Scopes Alpha Class High Magnification 6-36/7-35 FFP Scope Review

You can kind of get an idea of that between my last two reviews. This one has the TT and RG3 and my latest review has the RG3 and LRP S3 6-36's. I have not see the ZCO 8-40 so cannot comment but I would say the Zeiss LRP S3 makes a very compelling argument especially at its price point.

Rifle Scopes Alpha Class High Magnification 6-36/7-35 FFP Scope Review

Nightforce doesn't talk to little people like me... I am but a blip on their radar, a chink in their armor, a stone in their shoe... I try to give fair and honest reviews of the scopes I bring in which means sometimes manufacturers will love me and sometimes they will hate me based on my...

Tube scopes and mount heights on ar15

Easy. It mostly comes down to simple math. The standard 1.50" high mount is measured from the top of the picatinny rail to the center of the tube which means this could, in theory, support just under a 3" outer diameter scope which roughly equates to about 76mm, even most 56mm objectives don't...

Rifle Scopes Alpha Class High Magnification 6-36/7-35 FFP Scope Review

There have been some pretty significant advancements in the Chinese scopes of late, it might be about time to put something like this into play... I will put it on my radar.

Rifle Scopes Alpha Class High Magnification 6-36/7-35 FFP Scope Review

Especially when you consider that NF has been pretty fair in price increases over the years, thankfully they have not gone insane like some other companies. Hard to believe it's been about 7 years since NF released the 7-35 and it's taken me this long, granted I've had friends that have had the...

Rifle Scopes Alpha Class High Magnification 6-36/7-35 FFP Scope Review

I think a NF ATACR 7-35 vs. DNT 7-35 might be in order, I might even freeze them in a block of ice, shoot the ice with a shotgun and then drive 9" spikes with them and see if they return to zero... ;)

Rifle Scopes Alpha Class High Magnification 6-36/7-35 FFP Scope Review

I have had this review up on opticsthoughts.com but wanted to provide a version here for the Hide community. Background I have somewhat mixed feelings about these “high” magnification scopes, generally anything over 25x when thinking about long range and especially ELR type conditions, the...
