    I've had 3 of the 3-18 XTR3's and still have 3 of the 5.5-30x56 The 5.5-30x56 models all have much better glass than my 18x models did. I've heard same from others. I'd skip the 3-18 and go straight for the 5.5-30x models. The difference is very noticeable......
