Optics FS: Super Yoter Coming, Super Hogster, Hogster R Thermal Scope & Clip On

This may be an overreach. It is nothing but 384 resolution. You can't get beyond that fact. There may be some creative manipulation of the image, but to refine it a bit, but that is in no way like saying it is 640 resolution. Sort of like the old X-ray glasses that simulated X-ray vision...

Night Vision Any experience/opinion on the SiOnyx Aurora?

I am waiting on the side by side comparison.

Night Vision Any experience/opinion on the SiOnyx Aurora?

We had a picatinny mount, their Aurora's gen 2 version, which was problematic. I had it on my rifle and didn't get it situated properly because the thing tended to stick and not close fully. Anyway, here is the video from that night... As best as I can tell from the numerous nights out...

    Night Vision Which Thermal weaponsight?

Playing devil's advocate here, if you are having that much trouble, then I am not sure how you will know it is an adult cow. The identification process varies from person to person. I make a lot of very long distance "identifications" based on shape and movement. These are 2D shapes, right...

    Night Vision Which Thermal weaponsight?

500 isn't out of the question in the right conditions. I checked with a buddy of mine that does coyote control on numerous high country ranches (little humidity) and his longest kill with a 35 mm 2.5x Trijicon MKII is 520 yards. I don't think there would be a problem for shooting hogs with a...

Night Vision White hot or Black hot?

I actually do most of my scanning and shooting in black hot. I don't see white hot as preserving my night vision better because either way, once compromised, I am using my other eye for night vision anyway. Sometimes, in certain conditions, white hot works better, especially for picking up...

    Hunting & Fishing 2020 varmints

I have a landowner that is having a battle with skunks and armadillos. I have taken over 30 skunks off his place this year, most of those between January and March. Here is a sample...

    Hunting & Fishing Hog bait

I have tried a couple dozen different recipes and commercial products along with various other things like fruit/vegetable scraps, fryer grease, etc. Based on that and what I have seen online, hogs will be "attracted" to everything from dead cows, dead feral hogs, fish head, crawdad leftovers...

Hunting & Fishing Let’s start a coyote thread.

Sorry for the late reply. Yes, I was using a Silencerco Omega suppressor.

Hunting & Fishing Let’s start a coyote thread.

This vid has my favorite coyote hunt, my first triple. It starts at about 1:00 minute into the video. A fourth coyote was taken later than evening along with a couple boars.

Hunting & Fishing Hunting Ethics... How many shots does it take you?

One shot kills really are not a problem. Instant DRT are another matter. I have no problem putting a second or third shot into a mortally wounded hog or coyote in order to kill it faster, even if it is already down.

Hunting & Fishing Micro Trophy Hunting

Very nice, deersniper! They have been slow to respond to request for an official B&C system for micro trophies. I am of the opinion that they have a decidedly larger animal bias.

Night Vision Bering Optics - "Hogster"

Despite all the claims of clip-ons having consistent RTZ (which the Hogster/RATR did each time I checked before hunts), I don't trust any of them without verification. I have had issues using a Snipe IR. I have had folks have troubles with L3 LWTS on hunts. I have seen issues twice with NV...

Night Vision Bering Optics - "Hogster"

I used the Bering Optics Hogster-C with their Rapid Acquisition Tactical Riflescope for a couple of weeks and got in some good hunting with it. It was a pretty nifty setup. Ben of Hunt TXhogs did a more thorough review of the physical aspects of the setup...
