Sounds familiar. Lol. PM me a different alternative and we'll be back down for more fun.
We started doing a countdown and both shooting to maximize our shooting per dollar.
Back on topic, I've found 6mm projectiles FAR more readily available than 6.5mm. I've also had good results with every...
Funny enough - my last trip to TX the ranch insisted that anything "less" than a 308 was insufficient and folks with "them creedmowers lose too many pigs." I brought my 20" Proof/Xanthos/JP and laid them over every...single...time. haven't used less than a Grendel but can't imagine it wouldn't...
Identical to my experience. For blasting hogs I would build a 12.5" pistol or SBR. With the right can and optic combo you'll likely save 5+ lbs and the swing of the rifle will be so much easier. Your barrel/suppressor also won't be catching up nearly as much.
Then you can justify building...
Is $400 adequate for the final product? I've always bought of the shelf so this but a tube and have it chambered is new to me.
I'll try to find Padom's results - and I thought I had read everything about 6mm ARC on this forum. Lol
Here's my maiden voyage - shot in round robin style one shot at each target from the magazine TL, TR, M, LL, LR, three times. What would you run with? SDs aren't great, but this would be a 0-400 yard load for varmints. Temperature was 24 degrees.
Lol - it's my son's lunch bag in the backyard.
I opted for the Glx specifically because it was manufactured in the Philippines and I've had good luck with Vortex, Nikon, etc glass from there. Typically the minimum quality I like to have.
So far the Glx is worse than the SLX I had a while back.
I actually just sent a GLx Apollo 4-16 back to Primary Arms for warranty review due to really poor glass resolution. Couldn't get solid resolution while zeroing the rifle at 100 yards no matter the diopter/parallax combo.
Here are images of the GLx, then a PST Gen 2 3-15
Looked hard at the Helos 2-12 from Athlon - wondering how that compares to similar optics like the Swampfox 2-12?
I have a Swampfox Arrowhead 1-10 that I've actually really liked on my Desert Tech MDRx, and I think I prefer the reticle of the Swampfox over the Helos.
Again - I'm completely...
No real budget - however I echo the idea that this one may not be worth a budge t option like the helps or similar.
I have an 18" proof CF that is lights out
This is a 12.5" Faxon - if it doesn't get me sub moa I'll rebarrel to tighten things up as referenced above.
