Which would you keep given my current rifles? 6mm ARC or 6.5 Grendel

Heresy! No 5.56?!? I kid... That's the line of thought I began with, then realized I preferred different configurations for different purposes (Rifle buffer vs Carbine vs SBR, etc). Truth be told - I have quite a few firearms because I like them (enter 10mm KRISS vector paired with a g20...

Which would you keep given my current rifles? 6mm ARC or 6.5 Grendel

To the "never sell a firearm" - I would only be selling a couple of barrels along with all the ammo and tooling for them. The firearm is the lower and those stick around. Good insight on the 204. May be time to consolidate based on ammunition and not huge versatility. As I think about this...

Which would you keep given my current rifles? 6mm ARC or 6.5 Grendel

I'm with you - I didn't even include 300 blackout in the mix! The real overlap here is the Grendel and ARC. I use the AR modularity to make it a bit easier with the one off chamberings and a single upper, but to your point - I'd like to pare down to a battle round (5.56), an efficient...

Which would you keep given my current rifles? 6mm ARC or 6.5 Grendel

Story time kids... Here's the skinny on the platforms I'm thinking about - every time I go hunting for anything hog/deer/elk and similar I reach for one of the Creedmoors (even though I've always talked about taking a Grendel or ARC). That said, I do anticipate taking either a Grendel or ARC...

Need Advice - Ejector Swipes with reloads suppressed, Creedmoor AR10

Bingo - I'm actually going to try a couple shots with Lapua and the same load before messing with mass, etc. Like changing spark plugs before bigger adaptations. If not, RL16 has been phenomenal in this regard by comparison. I may use that moving forward.

Odin Works vs Proof Stainless 6mm Arc AR build?

Here's one more data point on the proof. I did have a weird poi shift during break in as the barrel heated up the first time but haven't duplicated it since. I honestly need to shoot it more. I really like the rifle - radian kits are a bit heavy but the rifle only weighs 6.4 lbs with all the...

Need Advice - Ejector Swipes with reloads suppressed, Creedmoor AR10

That's a great point - I have the exact same thing as you with my grendel and I've just accepted it on that platform. Also Hornady brass. I have about 300 pieces of Hornady 6.5 that I've planned to use for 6.5 gas guns, but also have Lapua for PRS stuff - I could sacrifice a case of two in the...

Need Advice - Ejector Swipes with reloads suppressed, Creedmoor AR10

I honestly haven't messed with ejectors before. May have to learn something new. Here is a picture of my ejector - should I head down that rabbit hole?

Need Advice - Ejector Swipes with reloads suppressed, Creedmoor AR10

May be time to test JP's claims about weight and lockup. I may strip off the weight to test and add weight to do the same with the same loads. If others have experience, steer me straight with some added data points. No doubt the brass is filthy so weight to the system may be the answer.

Need Advice - Ejector Swipes with reloads suppressed, Creedmoor AR10

Thank you for the hands on insight - to be clear, you recommend adding weight and adding gas as I'll need more gas to fully cycle the system, but the added lockup time will allow the case to stay in the chamber long enough to allow pressure to dissipate before extraction? If I didn't love 6.5...

Accessories Silencerco Parts: ASR Flash Hiders, Muzzle Brake, Mount, Blast Shield, Direct Thread, Anchor Brake

I only bought one - switching from rifle to rifle takes seconds. Plan A is easier, simpler, reduces length by 1" and reduces weights by 4-5 ounces.

Accessories Silencerco Parts: ASR Flash Hiders, Muzzle Brake, Mount, Blast Shield, Direct Thread, Anchor Brake

Loved it - an absolute necessity when shooting brakes rifles without a suppressor. Purchased the Griffin version when I switched over to Plan A across the board. You wouldn't believe the difference it makes on a 5.56 sbr.

    New 6mm Advanced Rifle Cartridge

Quick post to provide data points. I own 16" and 12" Grendels and really like them, but haven't liked velocity for their accuracy nodes/brass limitations when shooting suppressed (about 2380 with 123s from the 16"). It drops the efficiency of the bullet quite a bit as I can't take advantage of...
