    I shot 18 rounds through my 300 PRC improved this morning with a TB ultra 5 on. The rifle is 10.7 lbs total. I’d say it’s roughly about like shooting a 9-10lb un braked 308win with 180s.     I have a 30SM, it pushes 215s 2950 in a proof cf 20” barrel with n570. I know of 2 other 20” 30 noslers pushing ~2975 with 215s and n570.     Yes, you can’t the way the mount is designed. I pulled the mount off and have been using the thermal as a handheld and put my nightvision back on the rifle. Much easier than swinging the rifle around constantly scanning.

    I’ve been happy with my 16” 243 suppressed. Shot a coyote with it 2 nights ago at 250 yards using 58gr v max at 3500 fps. I mainly run 87gr bthp at 3050 it does well out 600 yards.     16” ultralight SAUM caliber choice?

    I’d go 300 wsm or 7Saum, ADG brass for both 7 SAUM will do ~ 2700 with 180s 300wsm will do ~ 2750 with 200gr hybrids or 205gr EH’s with rl17. My 16” 30/06 does 2580fps with 215gr bergers & RL17. H4350 will be around 100 fps slower. Rl26 is another good option that almost gets rl17 speeds.
