Bullets coming apart downrange - did bad reloading cause this?

Make a dedicated seater if you dont like the ring. Coat a bullet in a loaded round with a little oil. very light. Get some epoxy and put it into the seater plug. Run the cartridge up into the die that has the epoxy in it. Let it sit there overnight. The next day lower the ram and disassemble the...

Anybody lay eyes one a Lee 6000 yet? I think I want one.

This new press is a version of the auto breech lock pro. The carrier tilts and has no way to stay lined up. You can move the whole carrier about 1/8" in each direction. As you seat the bullet the carrier flexes and you can not keep a consistent depth. I made mine into a 9mm blasting ammo only...

18" barrel accuracy problems and questions.

2 BA barrels that did not meet anywhere near their claim. Both were replaced then sold as new replacements. One was a 14.5" Hanson and the other was a 18" spr ss black series. Both were 223 wylde Here is the throat on the 18" That ledge was all the way around in the throat. I ended up...

Bullets coming apart downrange - did bad reloading cause this?

But they have a 5 or 6 groove barrel also. The wider land groove profiles impart more distress to the bullet.

Bullets coming apart downrange - did bad reloading cause this?

The 4 groove may just be too hard on the bullet. Years ago 3 groove were a thing and they found out that they were blowing up thin skinned bullets. Mainly Hornady but other were effected as well. This was in 6.5, 6, 224 cal. All were fast twist barrels. I would say that the 4 groove and the fast...

    What caused this primer failure?

Did you get the ejector out yet? Lay some flat wood down and smack the bolt face down onto the wood. You are trying to create momentum like the ammo hammers to take cartridges apart. It may work.

Brass remains in chamber, bolt locks back. Am I over gassed?

Their barrels are crude. The work done to them is pretty good. But the blank itself seems like it was made by Bear Creek.

Brass remains in chamber, bolt locks back. Am I over gassed?

Building you do the actual work on the receiver and barrel. Ever chamber a barrel? I have. I have even made my own stocks. Not for a AR but several bolt actions. If you just buy parts and put it together you are assembling it.

Brass remains in chamber, bolt locks back. Am I over gassed?

Do 5-10 20 round mag dumps as fast as you can shoot all in a row and don't stop. You now have fixed the issue.

Gunsmithing 6 jaw chuck question. Are my jaws lined up correct

You definitely have a couple of the jaws swapped. As was stated they should be stamped in some way to be able to get them back together in the right spot.

Knives Gransfors Swedish Axe head $100

We actually had a version of a spring hammer that was used to shear 2" round bar for bolt blanks. But it was about 20x the size as you showed for your power hammer. Our was powered by 120hp electric motor.

Knives Gransfors Swedish Axe head $100

You evidently did not read what I posted. It was about the reason these cost as much as they do. And I have had 3 GB SFA's and 2 had to be sent back for heat treat issues in the bit. Both were made by AS and both failed in the bit chopping some Osage orange. I have several HB and a couple of the...

Knives Gransfors Swedish Axe head $100

This is not a dig at the OP These are no better than a lot of the other axes out there. The problem is all the lumbersexuals buys up all the GB axes and flannel shirts and growing a beard and having their hair pulled up into a bow on the back of their head. If this is you, you are the reason...

Brass remains in chamber, bolt locks back. Am I over gassed?

S&B brass is also much harder or more brittle than other brass. I don't think they anneal properly. Also the primer hole tends to be a little more shallow and the diameter is tighter if you dont use their primers. I throw all of it in the scrap bucket

    Reloading the 350 Legend

Stay away from lilgun. Way to many people with blown primers. Split cases. It is not very stable in this cartridge. One day you are fine. The next day conditions are the exact same and it blows a primer pocket. And using a middle charge on the loading data. H110 can also give fits the same as...

    Reloading the 350 Legend

I have shot up to a 270gr bullet and was stable. It is not the twist. Tell us about the way you reload and who made the barrel. The 350l is capable of extreme accuracy compared to most other calibers.
