    Rifle Scopes Elevation adj Leupold

That scope has 80 MOA / 23.3 MILS so a 20 MOA base causing you to be unable to get a 100 yard zero is basically impossible unless something is broken or incredibly out of spec somewhere (you should have 20 MOA of wiggle room {80/2 = 40, 40 -20 = 20}). It also has a zero stop, which you are...

Oh thank god. I thought you were suggesting a hold over lol.

relative newb just starting to shoot off of bags. What are the basics?

Is there a reason you can't just go prone? Like does the range rules prohibit it?

    Advanced Marksmanship MIL Range This......

I feel like this thread is a good example of how much of a shit show it is to try to mil range something. Google is spouting a whole bunch of different heights for coyotes, most don't specify the difference between male/female or different parts of the country, some don't even specify what...

    does wind affect elevation

1000 yards no wind: U 27.375, L .625 1000 yards 30 mph wind from 9 o clock: U 28.5, L 21.0 1.125 MOA or .33 MILs Honestly surprised that it is the same difference. Note: It is the same 1.125 MOA diff at 100 yards as well.

    does wind affect elevation

600 yards no wind for my rifle in AB mobile app shows U 11.875 MOA, L .250 MOA Add 30 MPH wind left to right: U 13.0, L 10.875 Which is about .33 MIL's difference in elevation.

Stupid reload question: Bullet seating depth , jump and OAL

It is in reference to where the bullet touches the lands in your specific rifle. There are different tools and methods to get that touch value.

    Its decision time!

I am pretty sure that Weatherby Vanguard and Howa are the same actions, or made by the same people, or have the same footprint or something. Either way, it is just better to grab a barreled action Howa 1500 from brownells and stick it in a KRG Bravo then spend the equivalent on a Weatherby...

    Its decision time!

When you get to the 2k mark, there really is no point in buying a rifle other than a select few and I don't think the Weatherby Mark V is a part of that select few.

    Vertical stringing. What causes it?

How do you adjust the rifle to be on target without using your rear hand to squeeze the bag?

    Vertical stringing. What causes it?

I am pretty sure I have a problem with " if using a rear bag, giving up on the shot...basically relaxing the rear bag hand at the same time the trigger is pressed (if its this you should be able to see it on recoil...your rifle will be pointed high after the recoil impulse)" Either that or the...

    TriggerTech 2-Stage Trigger - I'm stoked!

None of the triggers I have tried are as nice as the TT Diamond (B&A Tac Sport Pro, was difficult to get it low without dropping on hard bolt running and also jiggled side to side), (Timeny and Timney CE, good but can still feel a small difference between them and the TT Diamond), (Huber 2 stage...

J Allen Chassis and magazine play

For AICS: In my experience, the front of the mag cut in the action will prevent the front of the magazine from over inserting but nothing stops the rear of the mag from over-inserting with upward pressure. The exceptions for this is the MPA which as the ability to add a block to prevent the...

    Advanced Marksmanship Correcting for mirage

I have no advise for reading mirage caused by external environmentals but the original post seemed to indicate the problem was from barrel heat which you can combat with a mirage shield/band that you see on F Class and BR rifles.

Traditional Style Grip vs Pistol Grip/Thumbhole

You need to get behind both to really know for sure. Most people are not going to wrap their thumb around the pistol grip or go through the thumb hole. The whiskey 3 looks like it has a little thumb shelf on the side and the Bravo you could put your thumb near the tang or just float it on the...

Advanced Marksmanship Question on Rifle MPH/Wind topic

It is probably easier to just use a ballistic calculator and increase the wind by 1 MPH till you get something like .1 @ 100 yards .2 @ 200 yards . . . .8 @ 800 yards
