Advice on Cartridge and Rifle (and a lot of other stuff) for High Accuracy Bolt Action Rifle

With your use case, "budget", and current skills/knowledge I'd vote the factory option route in 6.5 Creedmoor. Few options worth looking at: - Tikka CTR w/ a different stock or chassis - Bergara HMR - Aero Solus Hunter Rifle Spend more money on optic, peripheral equipment...

Thoughts on the Aero Precision SOLUS ?

@Terry Cross curious if you have any updated info you're willing to share about the SOLUS action and your experiences? (If there is anything to share or if you have the time) Thank you!

Thoughts on the Aero Precision SOLUS ?

If you can wait, Black Friday is coming and that has been some of the best times for deals. Whether it's through Aero themselves making a "pricing mistake", or one of their bigger dealers, you can usually snag an action around ~$600. The best I've seen in the past was Arm or Ally had SOLUS...

Manners Composite Stocks Estimated Lead Times

Anyone have a recent experience with a Flat Top (no inlet) stock? Website FAQ states 6-8 week lead time, which seems a little too good to be true

    Kelby's Prometheus Action

Good to hear, they're good people

    Kelby's Prometheus Action

Well +1 another example of great customer service from Kelbly's. They are allowing me to trade out my repeater for a single shot variant. Figured I would share/update since I mentioned it here.

223 Rem and other 224 Cal Variations

I'll add to the discussion: Don't always default to something is wrong with the system or that the largest improvement could be made there. A lot of the time those flyers are from the person, not the equipment! Seems like you have a good shooting setup, consider spending time focusing on...

    Higher quality trimmers worth it?

I definitely disagree on your motor comment. This Henderson motor spins at about 2x the speed of an average hand drill (more important then torque in this case) it definitely weighs a lot more than the Milwaukee M18 I have, it is significantly smoother, and quieter. I've used hand drills for...

    75 Degree Bolts are landing

Add Kelbly's to the list that offer 75 degree bolts now. Should also be swappable for your existing action. ATLAS Tac, Prometheus, etc.

    Kelby's Prometheus Action

Figured I would share some news I found out from their website: 1) Looks like the Prometheus can now be ordered as a single shot! (I have a new repeater Prometheus action still in the box, I wish I could trade it for a single shot version... I do live less than an hour from Kelbly's but I...

Opinions on 2 rifles. Tikka vs Browning

Tikka or save more and just go custom (Mack Bros Element)

Entry Level Build after CDG Price Bump

These "custom" actions that have a removable but pinned rail will likely never give an issue and shouldn't sway you away from them. With the actions and rails being precisely made from the same company fit and finish will be tops. They typically also use oversized hardware AND hardened pins...

    Higher quality trimmers worth it?

The new Hornady trimmer does look to have some improvements/more features over the Henderson. (As it should since the Henderson has been out for a while) Time will tell if the new Hornady unit can match the performance/longevity of the Henderson. As a consumer, I welcome the competition...

    Top quality manufacturers

I know this is an optics discussion, but to add info to your caliber decision: choose 6.5 Creedmoor, buy quality ammo in bulk online to save compared to local prices. Nothing technically wrong with your other cartridges listed but: .308 underperforms with more recoil, 260 Rem is basically 6.5...

Precision 6.5 CM - What would you change about my process?

Might have a few typos in your post there. No way you're pushing 53 gr of H4350 in a Creedmoor case.

    Short 308 Diminishing returns

No direct experience with it, but if it were me I'd get the laminate wood stock and get it bedded. That and a better trigger is usually the go to methods for squeezing the most out of a mass produced rifle.

    Short 308 Diminishing returns

Yeah I happened to find it just by scrolling Eurooptic. Couldn't figure out the thread size, but if I were in the market for a hunting rifle... I'd do something like that.
