    Kowa 88mm should be at the top of your list to learn about. It is an incredible scope. New ones with an eyepiece will be $3k+. I don't have much insight as far as tripods. I use a MeFoto carbon Globe Trotter. It's pretty light and very solid. There are cheaper and much more expensive options.

    Sorry for the delayed response, I haven't looked at this thread in a while. I love the McMillan A5. It is my all time favorite stock. I have a 338 Lapua improved in an A5 as well. That is a molded in camo finish - light green, dark green, and light tan.

    FYI - I use 4 screw Nightforce ultralights on my 300 Norma improved, and the scope has never slipped or moved in the slightest. The 6 screw isn't necessary. I do use 6 screw on 338 Norma improved. I know you aren't looking at Nightforce, but you don't have to be constrained to 6 screw.
