    Tikka T3 Thread

I tried the Tikka Triggertech at their booth last week. As all Triggertech very good. Tikka triggers are generally good however there are a few flops amongst them that need reworking. In all the years we had three T3 triggers that were not nice. One was reworked and turned out perfect. I think...

MDT have a bottom metal that fits into the CTR footprint and apparently takes medium mags say for 6.5PRC but then you still have the bolt head issue. 284 Win could be an option with the MDT and fit in the 6.5CM bolt. I never managed to find a magazine that would fit into the MDT medium bottom...

Recon you could go 338 fed, 308, 70-8. At a push even 6.5PRC and load accordingly. I don't think the PRC will give you much more knock down over a 308 loaded say with 178 ELDX up to 200yd. My choice would be the 308 with 9 or 10 twist and experiment with heavier bullets up to 208gr. Chamber cut...

Although I really like Tikka T3's I can also live without. My two main hunting rifles this season are based on an old Remmy short action and a new Remmy long action. Have a custom Mauser built for rough use and closer stuff as well as a few T3's. I find even getting a few set's of action screws...

    Muzzle threading Tikka T3 lite

I presume the main reason is lack of Suppressors etc in the metric threads. Our manufacturers in Europe mostly use metric threads and rifles come standard with these. Tikka mainly uses M14x1 for the lighter barrels, M15x1 for 9.3x62 in light barrel, 5/8x24 in CTR and M18x1 in Varmint/Tactical...

PSE E-Tac- A (somewhat) Quick Review

Very good. Thanks for the reply. We have not yet had many asking for a folder version and cost vs gain seemed out of proportion. Also some Euro countries are a bit awkward about folder and have minimum rifle length etc. Some just don't like the look of them and won't grant a licence etc. The M...

PSE E-Tac- A (somewhat) Quick Review

Sorry first time I saw your post. What cal do you have in that rifle? That is a long action floor plate as in 30/06 etc or? All ok with fit and feed they can be finicky as well as some polymer mags that might be a bit wide for the T3 action. I never had a long AI polymer magazine yet. I hope you...

That would be the best choice. We only have experience with Atlasworx AICS/CTR floorplate (careful there is also and older version that won't fit into CTR footprint). If the inlet is correct even the original action screws are the right length for the Atlasworx AICS/CTR. I am sure others will...

Filing the bolt stop needs to be done right, the angle you file is important to pull the bolt stop closer to the bolt not to push it away as the bolt will just fly out then. Makes sense if you look at it. edi

Euro Law since a year or two on new rifles. Bolt, barrel and action must carry serial number. Think they were fighting about engrave depth. edi

If you have a choice I'd go for stainless. I'd also leave the fitted rail on, they are fitted well. Seen plenty other that were fitted by owners come loose. Of course only at the PRS event. edi

Without a doubt I'd prefer the stainless. Just easier in the long run. Sick of carbon barrels rusting, even after one day hunting in wet conditions... results in a brown patch. The stainless does not have to be treated as carefully. I bought two 308 20" CTR's shortly after each other. One was...

Try Highland outdoors in Wexford area. Dom Byrne. 3 rd plastic might need a bit of fiddling to get them to drop out, so flush there is nothing to hold on to to get out. We are in P17E940 if you would be close by you could try out some of the mags. edi
