Rifle Scopes Tikka T3 Tac A1 - scope mount recommendations

Best bang for the buck and what I use on my Tikka Tac A1, and my AiAX. This mount was designed for exactly what you need. Quick detach and always returns to Zero for me. https://www.admmfg.com/recon-s-mount

ZCO 420 vs NF 420 on a gas gun.

^^^^ this guy Yeah the 4-16 is the way to go for a gas gun. It's kinda the gold standard for compact high power all around optics.

Nightforce ATACR 7-35x56 vs SB 6-36x56 PMii

I have spent less than a day's time on a 6-36 SNB, and have owned several 5-25pm2's, and a NF 7-35, to me the SnB is better optically than the Nightforce and more useable up top or past 30x mag. Now I'm just talking glass clarity and brightness, as well easy eyebox. The NF is easier/quicker on...

Is the March FX 4.5-28x52 my new ZCO?

Of course this is a somewhat rhetorical question, but there is an ounce of query in there. You see, I just picked up a new March FX 4.5-28x52 on sale from Eurooptic. If you have ever looked into this brand you will note that it is generally very expensive, and the premium is interesting...

    Razor Gen 3 6-36: will 1.125 work?

Yes you are good to go. But obviously it would crash on a flat top rail such as an SRS or AiAx etc...

    Accuracy International Picture Thread

It's interesting that Frank still shoots 308win. One would think barrel wizards shoot exotic calibers all the time. But I'm actually happy to see this, it's validating.

    Tikka T3 Thread

The ceiling on the inner part of the actions is anywhere from 175-200 FT lbs from what I have read, but I do not know for sure. This is when using the Tikka action tool, not when using a wheeler which applies the forces on the outer flats of the action. If you stay under 100ft lbs it should be...

    SOLD Leupold MK5 5-25x56 PR2 Like New W/mount

Up for grabs a nearly new Leupold MK5/Mark 5 5-25x56 PR2, purchased new from CS tactical. This optic has been fantastic, it's performed exactly as it should, it tracks perfect and the glass has been excellent. I would say it's been out long range only a handful of times, it's been tracked out to...

    Tikka T3 Thread

I finally got the new Proof barrel on and took the Tikka to the range to break the barrel in, I got some interesting results that I will share in another post. When swapping barrels out I can't stress the importance of using a good torque limiting wrench like the ETork, or Summit Tools 3/8 or...

Rifle Scopes Vortex RG3 6-36x56, Element Theos 6-36x56 and Zeiss LRP S3 6-36x56 Review

The other thing I remember was when focused at high to mid power, then either zooming up or down required a re-focus. So a focus at one power did not focus at all of the other powers, if you changed magnification you were forced to re-focus. As I got one of the first production 6-36's I wonder...

Rifle Scopes Vortex RG3 6-36x56, Element Theos 6-36x56 and Zeiss LRP S3 6-36x56 Review

I owned a first run production of the Zeiss 6-36 but couldn't get past the red tinge I would see when looking through at higher mag, I wonder if they have fixed that in the past few years? Otherwise a nice optic for all the reasons mentioned.

    Tikka T3 Thread

The Tikka barrel has a more extreme angle by the action due to the profile, so I try to grab an area that has the most grip and fits the barrel vise the best. You want as much surface area to grab as possible.

    Tikka T3 Thread

I have a Proof carbon 24" in 6.5 coming in the mail. Don't get me wrong, the Tikka barrels are about the best out of the box for many reasons however they are a little slow, the Proof will be a little faster, and it will lighten things up a tad.

    Tikka T3 Thread

I took off another Tikka barrel from a Tac A1 action. Minimal fuss, the key is prep work, patients, and torque. 1. Prep work: Once action and barrel are removed from the chassis hit the barrel joint inside the action and the outside of the action with penetrating oil like Kroil or WD40. Have...

    Tikka T3 Barrel / Yuck

Never look down your barrel. Seriously I have had barrels that had fire cracking, filiform erosion, rust, etc...etc.. And many of those barrels have shot great and no different then when new. Unless you're Frank Green just don't do it.
