BC Variation bullet to bullet is real, and its a problem.

We've done this with the Flatlines in order to see just what happens in transition. While it raises its own set of circumstances, it does work.

    "Long Distance Record Broken"

Holy shit. I actually agree with Alex on something. Your right about the wy match in that it is not what ELR shooters are looking for. That concludes this momentary agreement.

    Back to the 338 LM.

You will be fine with that twist and the 285 Flatlines. You cannot really over spin the solids (I'm sure you alreadyknew that). I know you asked about the eld, and i think you are flirting with disaster spinning them that fast.

    6.5-284

Not sure why the 123 section is missing, although there are some 123 charts mixed in with the 121s. I'll get that resolved Monday first thing. In the mean time, the loads for the 121 will be close, but the fact that the usable capacity changes because there is more out front and less in the...

The new 33XC & 37XC cartridges designed by David Tubb

Interesting results there. I am rather surprised at how close the velocities compare between the two bullets with the same charge behind them. While they are slower as you report, I would have expected something closer to 100fps difference between them. In most cases, one needs more of, or...

    6.5-284

Somewhat of a shameless plug here, but this is a good option that can really breath new life into that 6.5-284. The 123gr Flatline has a better BC than the 140 class bullets and can be driven at 3300fps without pressure signs. Thus, retained velocity at target is much higher, TOF is...

    198 Flatlines in 300win mag

It is impossible for us to shoot every cartridge and projectile combination to gain real world numbers. There is enough data out there that others have shot to backup the fact that the published data does not yield pressure Under most conditions. That is why we always state that you shoul...

    300PRC

Looks like N560 would be my 1st choice. The RL33 and H1000 will work, but will be a bit an the slow side. Rl26 will be a bit on the fast side, as the chart shows it at 91% load density at the starting point. It's still worth tryin though.

    300PRC

If you don't see your specific setup listed, we are happy to run a custom chart for you. All charts are listed with respect to burn rate and are designed to be starting points only. Velocities and pressures will vary due to individual rifle specs. We include the variety of powders so that you...

    Gunsmithing Nardini lathes

47: The 1440 is a good all around machine. I've owned two of them. The older ones, painted green where made by Nardini when it was an independent Company. Very good TL lathe, excellent bearings in the head stock. 7500.00 new in 92 or so. Notice that the gearbox is not set up with the std...

    New Flatlines

I'm working with RCC now to get some made. Stay tuned for results. I'll start a new thread once we have something to report.

    Range Report New Flatlines

Some have found the 121 a bit finicky to load and tune. The 123 has similar shape and proportion to the 151 7mm and 180 30 cal, so it should be much more forgiving and easy to tune. Twist requirement is essentially the same. If you compare them side by side, the 123 had much more of its mass...

    Range Report New Flatlines

I'm running them in my 6.5 Creedmoor at 3120 with very comfortable pressures (using RL17). I did run RL16 just to try it and it was 100fps slower, but I found that I could fill the case entirely and it wasn't any where close to pressure. I'm also certain that one could run closer to 3200 with...

    New Flatlines

Just in case some of you don't visit the External Ballistics thread, I'll just leave this here too. New additions to the family and and I know many Hide members will be interested. https://www.warner-tool.com/product/6-5mm-123gr/ https://www.warner-tool.com/product/416-cal-505gr/

    France KO2M

I've seen both cartridges posted. There is a picture of it too in the palm of someone's hand, but because there is a lack of scale, it is difficult to tell exactly witch cartridge it is. But since it is posted in the official results, I will certainly agree that is was a Snipe Tac.

I don't have too many details, but i do know that the match was won with a 361 grain Flatline in a Chey Tac improved cartridge.

The new 33XC & 37XC cartridges designed by David Tubb

Normally one can associate elevation spread with ignition. If its just high, then its likely not firing pin spring weakness. I'd lean toward case volume variation that would increase the pressure slightly and thus send the bullet high. Might try comparing the capacity of the cases where you have...

Finally did it! (and a question)

Line the target area with lyme or fine sand provided the land owner is good with it. Misses will be send up a nice dust cloud.
