Night Vision Scanning / spotting with a thermal scope?

Scanners will have a lower base mag and bigger FOV for scanning compared to a rifle scope. Since you don't have a mount, they should weigh less too. It all depends on your hunting location and terrain. Closer ranges with short distance shooting opportunities will be better suited for a spotter...

Night Vision Scope covers for thermal

Measure your scope dimensions and order one from these guys ; https://alpineproducts.com/products/scope-slicker-nx I use the scopeslicker NX covers for my tube style (Thermion, Adder) and block shaped Halo scopes. They have bands to hold the cover in place so you don't lose it. These guys...

Night Vision NV and thermal kills...

Ended my opening week coyote hunting expedition with a kill before midnight and now it's time to get used to living in the daylight again. 46lb male that was part of a pair that was flanking us till we got into a field, then they started closing the gap quickly. Bad move. Livestock were in the...

Night Vision NV and thermal kills...

Double Down Male and Female we spotted over 400 yards away. Lone yote Howl got their attention and the Foxpro Kitten distress 2 brought them in all the way to their demise. The 20-250/55 Grn Berger combo blew the females heart out. Savage Impulse Predator rifles getting it done.

Night Vision NV and thermal kills...

Slow start to the season, but we dropped two 30+ lb female yotes so far. Impulse Predators getting the job done.

The Unofficially Official Sub-Caliber/“Micro Bore” thread!

Here's my 20-250 Impulse Predator after chopping 6 inches off the barrel. Was shooting 55's at 4,200 with H4350. Haven't chrono'd it after the chop, but it still shoots micro groups and is a lot easier to maneuver with now.

    Savage Impulse Elite Precision

Even an improperly but firmly bedded action will still group, So unless there's something inside the barrel you missed, Savage will need to take a look at it. 6.5 PRC is a barrel burner, but this takes the cake. SJC

    Savage Impulse Elite Precision

Barrel/extension are tight in the receiver, clean and free of buildup ? Crown looks good ? Did you chamber a round, extract it and see if the chambering process damages the bullet in anyway ? Just grasping at straws here, as I've been dealing with Impulse rifles since their availability and this...

    Savage Impulse Elite Precision

While I don't have the Elite model, I've disassembled my Predator rifles a lot of times for testing using factory and a Boyd's stock. I barely snug both stock bolts, then fully tighten the recoil lug and then the trigger bolt. I know several Impulse elite owners that have fully...

Help me breathe some new life into my old Model 7!

My brother is getting divorced, so he hasn't had access to his firearms for almost two years. This year he gets to hunt, so I took the witches Model 7 pencil barreled .243 that she let rust in a case and transformed it into a Remage medium contoured varmint barreled 6 man bun. 2lb trigger and...

Has anybody heard of aftermarket support of Savage's Impulse?

Because of it using AICS magazines, the Predator model is the only model that interested me. If Savage came out with an updated better feeding factory magazine for the other impulse models, I feel the impulse line would have been received much better. While it's not a Blaser or Strasser, after...

Night Vision Nvision x50 vs Nox 35 magnification difference

I varmint hunt varied distances and terrain in NY state and my primary scope is an X50. With the fixed focus, you'll have no issues unless your hunting minimal distance targets. You have a Nox for the close work, so get an X scope for the rest. Unlike a lot of scopes, the Halo X scopes controls...

Night Vision Help, Iray Bolt TL35 or Pulsar Thermion 2 XQ50 Pro LRF

The one year warranty on a refurbished pulsar thermal isn't great. If desired, the iRay V2 will have the capability to be upgraded with a ballistic comp LRF in the future, but both are 384 resolution, so magnifying will degrade the image and what's the use of an lrf if your looking at a blob in...
