PRS Talk Scope lense caps - yes or no

I like having them. Especially out here in the windy dusty west. I use the vortex defender held On with electrical tape. I can take them off easily if the need ever arises. Just develop a good prestige routine and they shouldn’t be an issue

    What is your wind philosophy?

I’m more on the intuitive side. Mirage, feel, and even splash if the target/conditions are right. Over 12-15 mph I’ll get the kestrel out ballistic solver out.

    Caliber recommendations again

22BR if your hand loading. We have a couple guys that use them at club matches using 88-90 grain bullets. They do well all the way to our max range of 1100.

First precision rifle. Upgrade or full build?

If you’re asking if you should buy the bergara and shoot now or put money in the safe until you have enough for a custom then build and shoot, do the Ferrara and upgrade. If you’re going to do the full build and shoot it now definitely go with a custom. Shooting now, equals shooting more, equals...

    **6 Creedmoor**

Started at .005 off. Almost every shot on it was match conditions. Including an Utah match with multiple 12 round stages at 95+ degrees and no shade. It had a rough life. Only ever dropped about 30 fps though.

    **6 Creedmoor**

Put a new barrel on for a national match last week. The old barrel came off at just short of 2200 rounds. It was still shooting well enough for local matches, measured the erosion and it was .130 total from new. Didn’t get to group it, as time was tight to get the other barrel/load ready for the...

    Ingenuity Precision trickler

I used my v2.5+IP for the first time last week. It was amazing, made reloading not a chore again, no frustration, the 4 out of 250 over throws were .06. It has about doubled my hourly output. Should have bought this thing a year ago.

    Impact NBK stock?

I just finished putting an NBK in a foundation revelation. Running a 22” bartlien CF, in M24 profile. No work. Just screwed it in with the Hawkins hunter you’re thinking about. Might be a little heavier than you’re looking for but it is a joy to shoot...

    chassis opinion

They are new to the precision rifle market, but S2Delta has a complete chassis out and available now. Comes in at less than $550. I shot the prototype last year and the fit and finish was amazing. All engineered and made in the USA. Ambidextrous, to include the cheek riser on the buttstock...

    25GT revisited 11/2023

I really haven’t done much with it over the last year. I was having problems getting the velocity I was using with the ace after switching to the bergers. The current theory I’m working on is that the longer bearing surface of the Berger is causing increased pressure. I had to drop the velocity...

    Impact Scope Ring Height

Do you have an adjustable comb? Probably yea. Run the high. I use the seekins/vortex PMR high. On an impact with heavy varmint and a gen 2. Your neck will appreciate the extra height. Your ballistic calculator will figure out the drop

    6.5 Creedmoor Muzzle Break Recommendations

All the top brakes are close. It’s gonna depend on how your gun is set up. The most important thing as others have said is getting one that doesn’t beat you as the shooter up. I think the heathen 3 port is the most gentle on me. But the ACE has better recoil mitigation at a small increase in...
