Tikka Tac 1 vs Sako TRG22

I'm in the opposite boat from ianb1116. I have never owned or shot a Tikka, but I have owned a TRG-22 for several years. Mine was part of a limited run of 200 rifles factory chambered in 260 Rem. The TRG is one of the easiest rifles to shoot well I have ever owned. The ergonomics are just...

Help me make a decision on KRG SOTIC versus Accuracy International AT

How would you compare the actions in terms of smoothness overall function and reliability?

    6 br/dasher in a rpr

I did it with 6 Dasher rounds and it seemed to work pretty well. So, I had PVA spin me up a barrel for it. In actual firing conditions however, the rounds would not feed reliably. But there turned out to be an easy fix. PVA also makes a magazine conversion kit that is inexpensive and very simple...

Help me make a decision on KRG SOTIC versus Accuracy International AT

I account for the only vote for the SOTIC so far. I have never shot an AI, but I'm sure it's an awesome rifle. But right now, the SOTIC is barely 1/3 the cost. That leaves a lot more budget for glass and ammo. Also, the MC is very heavy. That's probably a good thing if you plan on shooting a lot...

    Kinetic Research Group SOTIC?

This will be my second 6.5 Creedmoor. My other one is a JP LRP07. I'm hoping the hand loads I use for my JP will also work well in the SOTIC. That would definitely simplify things. I'm in the same boat as you for optics. I have a Steiner 5x25 on another rifle that needs some barrel work, so...

Take a look at the Cyke-pod. I was using an Atlas till I tried one of these. Best bipod I have discovered to date. Extremely stable and incredibly versatile. A little pricey, but worth the money.

So, how far did that cat run after you shot it?

You only live once. Might as well make the most of it.

    Kinetic Research Group SOTIC?

That's great. I was quoted 2 to 4 weeks on a 6.5 Creedmoor. I ordered it on 11/14, so shouldn't be too much longer. Please post your impressions after your break-in session.

    Best “nicer” 6.5 Creedmoor AR10

Have to agree with the consensus. JP is top of the list.

223, 6 Creedmoor, 260, 284, 308. I keep trying to convince myself that I need a magnum caliber, but truth is I don't have access to a range longer than 600 yards, so no point. Any of the five conversions I have now will easily handle that.

I have one on my RPR in 6 Dasher. It's a tack driver.

In terms of height, does anyone know if the SOTIC uses the same scope mount as a TRG?

I'm only 5' 6" and I have no problem. In fact, I use a spacer or two in the warmer months when I'm shooting in light clothing.

    Vihtavouri with 6.5 creedmoor

    I tried vvn-150. Didn't do so well. Haven't tried 160 yet.

    Vihtavouri with 6.5 creedmoor

VVN 550 works like a charm, at least with the 123 and 130 gr bullets I have tried in my JP LRP-07. Groups in the .2s and .3s. Single diget SD and mid to high 2700s for velocity with a 22" barrel. Best powder I have tried so far for this rifle.
